Sounds as if your transmission in the washer is either obstructed or snapped. take the service panel off and inspect where any metal to metal may be grinding.

you would have to take the top of the machine off or the back of it to see what position the belt is in.it may have slipped off the tensioner pulley or the belt may be broken. you should be able to take the back off.the tensioner is going to be in one of the corners at the bottom of the machine.thank you

My front end load dryer makes a humming noise when started then goes to pause

Have you checked the drying drum to see if it spins freely? Open the door and verify it spins freely. if it does then the motor may just be in a bad spot. usually after spinning the drum a turn or two it will get it running. it humms and clicks because of the motor not turning and trips an thermal overload switch and you have to wait for it to reset. Now if the drum dosent turn then you have a problem with drum rollers or something stuck in the way of the drum.

My Washing Machine is not spinning all the water out of my clothes.

Front loading washers are notorious for not spinning the water out of a small load of clothes. This is because there is not enough clothes in the washer to balance the tub during the spin cycle.

Try washing a slightly larger load with a minimum of six items or more. This is one of the downsides to front load models and no specific brand is immune to the problem.

My dryer is a model number GLER341AS2 and when I turn it on it makes a sreeching noise. Now the screeching has turned into a louder noise almost like a rubbing thud.

The symptoms you describe indicate that your dryer drum bearings are faulty: there is usually a large 'felt' bearing around the opening which support the drum and prevent metal to metal contact (screeching noises)- The drum must be removed to get to this front bearing (which is normally glue to the dryer front panel at the drum opening): it is not a trivial job and is not normally replaceable by end-users.

Hope the explanation helps.

There is a squeaking noise upon starting the dryer no matter what size load is in there. it lasts throught the whole cycle. its a pretty loud screeching noise.

Unplug dryer. Remove front kick panel, Remove door. Lift top and lay it back, be sure to support it. Take tension off belt. Remove drum. Replace all worn parts the hold up drum. Check belt tensioner for ware and replace if needed.

Grinding grumbling sound upon start up , continuing at a quieter sound during the cycle, loud and grumbly during shut down

Hi.

f you get a very loud noise coming from the machine, and this noiseislouder when it spins faster, then it is often because of a problemwith the drum bearing.

The drum bearing is bad, probably drum bearing spider had broken.

On a front load the drum bearing is located at the back of the drum.

To replace the part you take apart machine, undo the belt and depending on the model you may need to remove more parts.

You can find parts and diagrams for most models here.

High efficency dryer won't spin-Frigidaire

Try this. Set the timer. Open the door, press and hold the light switch. Rotate the drum by hand then while still holding the light switch turn on the dryer. If it starts then clos the door while removing your finger quickly. If this problem persists it could be the starter on your motor.
