If sears said the part are no longer available you can try other parts companies like www.marcone.com under contact us or try allbrands appliance parts there is also a company out of massachuessets that same day appliance has went partners in that has a part find service they do charge about 50 dollars but they do put the part through all companies across the country in order to locate the part as well as ebay and other means this part will be hard to obtain and quite time consuming as well if you have any further questions message me back Thanks again I await your reply Rick
http://www.mrfixitappliance.com/Appliance-Parts-Same-Day.html this one also supposedly has kenmore parts

when you are finally able to locate that part you will find you have probably searched 30-40 of them this is what happens when these big companies discontinue there parts I ve seen thermodor do it to a 9000 stove 5 years later they discontinued the oven thermostat switch which then makes the oven useless after paying 9 grand I wish you luck in trying to locate your piece. Thanks again Rick

Motor clicks every turn

The clicking is probably a small nick in one of the gears, even the smallest chip can cause alot of noise or make the mixer click. Is the beater shaft still turning when you have a load in the mixer (bowl is full)
Or is it just clicking?

If the beater stops turning it is going to be caused by stripped gears, however if it is just clicking this would indicate just a nick in the gear. Either way I would recommend opening the mixer and replacing the damaged gear/gears.

Your mixer is considered a 5 Quart Professional, which means it has the same parts as a KitchenAid 6 quart mixer. The first thing you will want to do is take the mixer apart and disassemble the gearing. You will want to clean off the gears with paper towels and wd-40. Carefully inspect each gear once clean and replace damaged gears.

In the professional mixers when a gear strips you need to replace the grease and housing gasket, this is because the gears are all metal and there may be metal shavings in the grease which could cause the gears to strip again.

The most common gear to go bad in the Professional series mixers is the Worm Follower Gear (9706529). Here is a link to that gear on our website: http://www.mendingshed.com/wormfollower.html

Also, here is a link to the service manual for the mixer, this will aid you in taking the mixer apart and putting it back together correctly. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/mendingshed/kitchenaid6qtservicemanual.pdf

We are one of KitchenAid's largest service centers within the US, and all parts we sell are genuine KitchenAid products. All parts are available at our website, www.mendingshed.com

What is the best stand mixer to buy for home use? My 4 yr. old Sunbeam Heritage Series 450 watt Mix Master has stripped beater gears. Before that it wouldn't tilt back because of a loose screw. I don't...

the best stand mixer is a hobart n 50 its a little expensive, but if you use your mixer all the time, its worth the investment, buy 6 to 8 sunbeams, or kitchenaids, to 1HOBART N 50. metalgears in transmission, and in planetary, all the others have nylon gears

Motor runs, beater stopped rotating. Some gear sounds heard before it stopped. Beater will not turn at any speed setting.

drive gear or shear pin stripped. Common on this model. Return to repair centre. Expect to pay approx $150.00 to repair, sorry.

Stripped beater gear

It is terminal. This is the fatal design flaw of these mixers. The gears are made of soft plastic and strip easily. Even the gear housing is plastic that is either glued or melted together to make it unserviceable. I have never suceeded in finding the part from either Sunbeam or one of the many appliance repair places on the web (who charge the cost of a new mixer for repair). Sunbeam does not repair them; if it is determined to have malfunctioned due to quality or design while under warranty, it is simply replaced with a new one. I had mine replaced under warranty twice, each time they sent me a new one complete with extra bowls and beaters. Now I have three sets of bowls and beaters and no functioning mixer.

Kitchen aid mixer

the unit sounds like the drive unit is stripped. if the planitary unit is spinning that gear is ok but the one below that is stripped. which is the one that spins the beater. Usually the professional lines are covered under a 2 year warranty. where as the others are a 1 year. I would contact kitchenaid first and see if your product is covered for replacement. they are really good about replacing faulty units. if not the unit can be repaired. It is a simple process and you can buy the parts off kitchenaid. usually the parts come with instructions as to how to replace them but if not repost to me and ill get you the directions on how to replace it.

Beater jams

You are going to DESTROY YOUR MIXER by kneading dough with the flat beater. Read the directions. They spell it out in big letters. Only use the dough hook for dough; only use speed 2.
If the mixer generated enough torque to knead dough with the flat beater (it doesn't), it would tear up and overwork the dough. As it is, you're lucky you didn't strip a gear.
