I downloaded pics from the internal memory by cable to PC. Now I can't get it to go back to taking pics on the sd card. Is there a setting I must switch to ?

With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and it should work.

You can't transfer pictures from internal memory to a memory card, sorry. You need a USB cable to connect the camera to your computer then you can transfer the pictures to the computer.
Go to previous view pics in internal memory, select the pic and then "move"at SD Card (work in some models).
Other possibilitie, take off the SD card and connected the camera at pc, open explorer software and copy/paste the pics from camera at one folder in the pc. Verify that the pics are saved and secure, so, delete the files in the internal memory. Turn off and unplugged the camera.
Then, take on SD card inside camera and reverse procedure, copy/paste from pc to SD card (like a external device).
First need to take off the SD card; default settign make the SD card as main stored when this is inside the camera.
Take off the SD card and send the internal memory pics at pc folder (use USB connection); insure that the pics are in this pc folder, them delete the files in "internal memory".
Take on the SD card inside tha camera and send pics from pc folder at camera, confirm that the pics are there.
The pictures are in the internal memory? If so you need to purchase a memory card for that camera and transfer the internal memory pictures to the memory card and then you will be able to download them to the computer. Format the SD card make sure the camera is set to place the new files on the SD card and not go to the internal memory. What I fully expect is the camera has defaulted to using the internal memory which is now full of files/pictures and needs to be set back to SD card. To get the pictures from the internal memory to your computer you need to load the pictures one by one from the internal memory to the SD card. Then take them from the SD card ether to a card reader to the computer or download them from the camera to the computer.
Hi, I have the similar s8000fd and I transfer pics from internal memory by taking out the sd card then connect to a spare usb socket on computer, then switch camera on.
To transfer pics from internal memory to sd card - leave sd card in, switch on camera (playback mode), press menu, select copy, select 'internal memory to sd card', 'select frame' or 'all frames'. It should say 'copy ok?' Press OK.
Use the supplied cable that came with the camera and also the program that came with the camera to download pics to your PC. Change the setting in the camera as to where the pics are stored (internal memory or memory card) and then use a card reader (Aptiva $9.95 at Staples) to put the memory card in and then plug into a USB port and download that way. Set the image storage setting of the camera to Internal.
Once it is set to internal, put the card in the camera and press review.
Copy the pictures from the internal memory to the card.
Actually, you can do it without the cable. You need to have the card inside your camera with at least ONE picture. Hit play. Press menu. Scroll down until you see COPY and then choose "Internal to SD Card" Hit All Frames. Hit OK. Done. Cheers, V+
That message is probably because you have not saved any images in the camera's internal memory. Whatever pictures you took are on the SD card. Try taking a couple of pics using the SD card and try the review. If you are able to review, then all is well. If you cannot review, then one of 2 things: 1. Faulty SD card..Replace or format it. 2. Remove the SD card and take a pic. The pic will be saved in the camera's internal memory. If you still cant preview, probably a fault with the camera, and you'll need to service it.
