DOES NOTHING - NOT SURE IF IT IS GETTING POWER - SUDDENLY DOES NOT WORK

A Towel got caught in the door, broke off a little plastic piece. I think it was just there so the door fit better. Put the plastic piece to shut, it still did nothing.

Hi there,

My name is Mike. I didn't want to leave you hanging. So I'm not as prepared as I would like. Please bear with me (at least until the cavalry arrives)

There are a couple of things I'd like you to check. I know you have probably done this a dozen times, please humor me.

  • The plastic piece that broke off, Where did it break off of? Did it appear to have function or just part of the wall or what?
  • The towel, where in the door did it get caught. Did the towel rip (pieces inside)? Could it have altered the angle of the door or latch?
  • Since these two events coincided with your problem, they warrant closer scrutiny. They must be related. We will find how.

  • Check the latch mechanism. If it doesn't seat right, the interlock won't engage. Are you able to manually engage/disengage the mechanism? Anything loose?
Let me know what you observe. Mike

If the dishwasher stopped after the incident, you may want to check on the fuses of the machine if they are blown, there is a possibility that the fuses got blown when the tower got caught and forced the machine to move.

Bosch Washing Machine - f.23 and the door will not open - we can not locate the float to reset?

F23 is flood protection in base of machine activated. Pull machine forward onto a towel, pivot if 45 degrees forward onto the front feet (ie lift back feet of the floor about a foot) If water runs out from under the machine this will prove this. You will find that the machine will probably work ok now, but you will have to trace the leak of it will reoccur. likely causes are tear in door seal, leaky inlet valve, blocked dispenser inlet or as simple as something was caught in door on previous cycle allowing water to run down the front of the unit and into the base.
Hope this helps

A knife with a plastic end must have fallen down during a cycle and melted to the heating coils of the dishwasher. Could not get it to come off at all! Then unfortunately we forgot and did another load....

WEll, it will take heat to get this plastic off. nothing else works.I would use a heat shield, gas torch and a wet terry cloth towel. heat the unit up and pull off with the damp towel. Really nothing else works. Sometimes you can activate the burner, but that is difficult to do during this process.

Hi- It is possible that the door latch is not completely engaging. If the door dropped the hinges may have bent a little thus preventing a good contact with door switch. Try pressing and holding the door shut, hard, and pressing start. If that works then replace the latch assembly. It is also possible the membrane switch got rattled with the door falling, or a wire is grounding out somewhere. Hopefully it is just the latch. Hope this helps, good luck.

Water leaks from the door of countertop model on

My older model had cheap plastic type rivets around the window. Of course they broke and water leaked out the window. I took the door apart and put in a new gasket the siliconed the heck out of it!
Put dishwasher on a counter or floor and put a nice thick phonebook under neath the opened door for support. Carefully replace window with gasket and a bead of silicone. Put enough weight on top to press it down and seal it. Leave for 24-48 hrs. I've replaced the window 3 times and this fix has lasted 2 years now. total cost about $10 and a little effort. make sure you use heat tolerant silicone.

Two problems: soap cover and seal?

Door leaked because of a plastic bearing ($4.10 part) on the lower arm causing water inside to surge and splash out the vents on the bottom of the door. Soap cover problem was a corroded spring caught on a plastic part inside the door panel. The spring actually broke and now seems to work fine because there was another spring helping to do the same job that is now allowed to work.

Dishwasher fills and appears to be going through cleaning cycle ok. However if I open the door part way through the dishes appear as though nothing has happened, dishes are still dry and dirty. have...

Most of the time it's because the impeller assembly has either something stuck in it or has just plain worn out.
Also you want to check and make sure the holes in the washing arms are clear (Poke a little toothpick threw them, or small piece of wire/nedel ect).
To get access to the impeller, involves unhooking the power, water and drain line.
Turn the entire unit upside down and remove the plastic impeller, which there is a kit that can be purchased at most local appliance parts suppliers with the model and serial of the unit, to replace just the inner working parts of the impeller assembly.
Just think like a dishwasher and where does the water come from and follow all the pipes and be observant to how it is getting to the washer arms.

Good Luck!

Motor runs when door is closed but it is not in a

It is draining because it thinks it is flooded. Remove the plinth at the base after turning off the power. Remove two plastic pieces at base and open the base. Mop out any water you find in there and put your hand in to the back left of the machine. There you will find a reset toggle which rises when there is too much water in the base. Reset this and after making sure all water has been removed close up everything and it should work for you. Please remember to turn off at mains before you do this.

Bosch dishwasher wont drain. At end of cycle is full of cloudy water.

It is possible if you have broken a glass recently that the piece of glass has made its way to the drain pump impeller. You need to remove bottom basket. Remove the filter strainer clamp by rotating CCW. There may be another round filter under the strainer (depending on model). Then with a torque screwdriver remove one screw which holds the plastic pump cover on. Remove the pump cover and pay close attention to the pump impeller. Does it rotate by finger movement? If not it could be jamed with a piece of broken glass. You must remove any obstruction to allow the impeller to turn. I usually force a paper towel piece (half piece while rotating the impeller by finger to allow the paper towel to bring up any obstruction below the impeller) Reassemble the cover and filters carefully and make sure the final strainer clamp aligns correctly with its marks. This insures nothing will make its way to the impeller in future.

It sounds like your door seal is giving you a problem. Before you replace the seal try running the dishwasher on the highest heat cycle to help the seal conform to the door.

DU943PWK won't drain

If you take the bottom panel off the DW, there is a white plastic tube that is sticking out, but attached to the motor. Turn the tube counter clockwise ( Please be sure to have wet vac ready as this tube will let water out, even if you think you have all water out, still have wet vac and towels ready) Pieces of things get stuck in that tube and make it hard to drain.. replace tube to motor after cleaning and test unit
