    i have the same problem with my camera. at first you had to turn it on and off a few times and it would work, but now it just turns on and then right back off. it has not been dropped and has a charged battery. the camera is not very old. it won it in a raffle and didn't have the info for a warranty. should i just throw it away or is there some way to fix it?

    Same with me. Only had it for 2 weeks and it turns on and then right back off. I tried buying a different battery, but it didnt work...

    When mine turns on it makes the little noise an the screen gives the logo for kodak, but then it dies like it hasn't been charged, but I have charged it for hours. I bought it over the summer and still haven't been able to use it. Kodak said they can't help me and it must be a battery problem, but I don't want to buy a new battery just for more problems.

    When I press "On/Off," the lens extends and then immediately retracts. Confirmed that battery was charged in the Favorites mode, which seemed to function normally. Purchased in April; this started in July for no apparent reason.

    I have the same problem.. I'm charging it and yet it still won't allow me to view anything but favorites and will not go into picture taking mode for more than a second (the lens pops out, back in and then the camera turns back off). It seems that we're all having the same problem...

The lens of my samsung is stuck wont go back in. if i press the power button, it turns on for a couple second s then turns off. but it doesnt take pictures. what do i do?

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

My camera turns on then turns back off right away!

Hi Most proberly the batery is shot. It wil be fully charged but it does not have "the amps" in this case miliamps to do the job. Pushing out the lens uses alot of the amps "miliamps" and the fact that it can't even rectract the lens back is a sure sign. If possible take the camera to a digital shop and test it with a known good batery!

I turn camera on. Lens comes out. beep 3 times. turns off.

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(

Kodak Easy Share M873 suddenly not working

What happened is that the camera got turned on in your pocket or somewhere and the lens got jammed trying to open up. The problem is that the outer lens ring is not turning all the way and the camera doesn't fully load.

Solution 1: Put the camera into the charger, press the power button so the green light is flashing, unplug it from the charger. The camera will try to realign its lens. (You might have to do this a few times.)

Solution 2: Manually help turn the outer lens ring clockwise when it turns on.

My camera {nikon coolpix l3}

Try jiggling the lens. Use compressed air to blow out any grit around the lens barrel. If that doesn't do it, you'll need to get the camera serviced.
