How to get internet download manager

Download Anything Faster. We all know that internet downloads can take quite a long time to download. If your looking to make your downloading faster - you're reading the right article. Accelerating your downloads is easier than you think. There are a few tricks to speed up any download you have.

The most important thing to consider while trying to download something - remember what kind of internet connection you have. If you have dial-up, you should be prepared to wait awhile. If you have DSL or cable speed internet and it's still going slower than a snail, chances are you have too much going on with your computer. I will explain further! When downloading anything from the internet, you shouldn't have too many other applications or programs running. Keep it simple. Say, your downloading a song - don't keep searching the internet and IMing someone at the same time. Close all other programs running until your done downloading your files. When your download is going way too slow, try hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del and go to your task manager for Windows. A lot of times, programs are still running that you have no idea about. Left click programs and end the task. This can accelerate any download, even if your using dial-up still. If you are using a router for your DSL, you might want to consider unhooking the router and plugging in your modem directly to your computer until your done downloading files. A lot of times, your router strength isn't half as strong as your actual modem connection. You should always consider getting a download manager to accelerate and manage downloading. This can make everything so much easier and faster. I would suggest downloading the Firefox download manager. http://download.cnet.com/mozilla-firefox/3000-2356_4-10208565.html Or orbit download manager http://download.cnet.com/orbit-downloader/3000-2071_4-10600926.html You can pick and choose which downloads you want to accelerate and pause. It can come in pretty handy! Hope this helps

High speed dsl down load speed is supposed to be 3.0mbps download----.384kbps upload--but all i can get is .320kbps download speed---what is the problem?

this will depend on your internet connection whether wireless ethernet or dial up

When your ISP offers you a 1Mb connection, its megaBits not MegaBytes.

So for a rough guide of how MUCH you can download, divide by eight. i.e. 1Mb speed = 128KB of data.

So its normal for you to get 1.0-1.10 mbps download speed for the 10MBps connection that you have

you might need software if you want to speed your downloads up http://download.cnet.com/getgo-download-manager/3000-2071_4-10277023.html

hope this heps

HOW I INCREASE DOWNLOADING SPEED BY 10MBPS

Contact your Internet Service Provider, and give them more money per month, and you'll get faster downloads.

Of course, this assumes that the file-server from which you are downloading is capable of sending as fast as you want to receive -- some servers are "busy", or deliberately are "capped", to limit the speed per connection to the server.

Linksys speed cut off

First, are you connected via Ethernet cable or are you linking via Wi-Fi? If Wi-Fi the speed is alway slower (up to 54 Mps) If connected by Ethernet, your connection speed should read 100 Mbps. Once you have determined the connection mode and speed.unplug the wireless router and connect the computer directly to the modem. Now test the speed and see if the speed lag is still ther. If not, you have a routing /networking issue but, it it is still the same speed, it could very well be heavy traffic ( a lot of people drawing from the same local area signal., usually at specific times of the day).

Hi,

There are couple of troubleshootig steps which needs to be performed inorder to help get a web page load faster.

Go to Tools/options/ and delete the history, cached pages, cookies, password etc. Might want to ignore favourites.

Also type temp in run command line and then delete the files from the folder. This helps to increase the processing speed as well as the browsing speed of the accer.

This works with IE 6/7/8 though.

Thanks

RE: router problem

You're welcome. anything to help out.

I'm sure you still have the phone filters installed.
So,
Run a speed test from here.
Then, compare it to the speed that you're paying for. For ex., you might be paying for a 1500 Kbps download and 256 Kbps upload.

If any speed (upload or download) is lower than 50 Kbps, call your service provider and tell them that you are not receiving the reasonable speed you paid for and that you have already cleaned your "cache" (they will suggest that you clean several files from your computer but that does not affect your speed).

Thank you for responding. Its rare for people to respond to helpers.

Slow outgoing internet

I would suggest checking in the router's admin panel. (Typical accessed by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 into your address bar on your web browser. Type your password (if you do not know it check your owners manual for the default) and check to see if you have any firewall or port restrictions set.
