Question about PC Laptops

1 Answer

Squeaky hinge I have a Dell XPS M1530 that has a right squeaky hinge. I cannot hear the squeak when i open it. I can only hear it when it is on an uneven surface, such as a bed, and it moves. I dont want to send it to Dell, and I really dont want to take it apart. I'm not sure where the squeak is coming from. (besides the hinge)

The Squeak could be from the plastic that surrounds the LCD wires and while moving or typing cause friction and thats when you hear it. Also it could be the hinge screws inside the LCD screen are loose and it causes that noise also. Tell you the truth I would get that taken care of now before the screen gets all loose and doesnt stay up as you open and close it day by day. You have 1 year warranty might as well take care of this issue from the start it will only get worse. I would not open up the laptop if you dont know what you are doing because you need special tools not to damage the lcd housing and or connection/ wires and could damage your computer. Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution.

Drivers missing off my dell xps m1530.

Hello you can always download for free here at DELL:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/xps-m1530

Try also the service tag number here:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriversHome/ShowProductSelector?fkey=Drivers_PS

In order to get the right drivers.

But first select your windows system.

Open the folder and download the driver.
You might have to unzip the file before you install it.

Here is not drivers for all windows systems, but the vista driver should work on windows 7.

Good luck

Dell xps m1530 nonstop beep

Sounds like a keyboard key is stuck in an engaged position. Hold the laptop upside down and while open tap the underside of the machine gently to dislodge the key. Otherwise you will have to take off the whole keyboard to see if something is lodged behind keys. Hope this helps.

Dell XPS M1530 trouble shutting down

Try this, just to see if the shutdown actually works.

Open a command prompt and enter the following:

shutdown -s -t 05

-s is to shutdown, -t 05 is a 5 second countdown.  Let me know if it actually shuts down.
