Start with a boot disk. run a scandisk to find any errors, then try using fdisk to reconfigure your partitions, enabling you to format. this has worked for me in the past with desktop pcs.

Toshiba Satelite P305 Laptop gtoes black. How to solve that? It was working fine and suddenly I turn it on and though I can see the on lights the screen remains black.

Hi.
Try this: Press and hold down the power button for 10 seconds, let go and wait for a minute before powering it on again.
This procedure will reboot the laptop from its internal power supply. I hope this helps. :-)

My desktop pc cannot boot again, it keeps on showing disk read error.

if its showing disk read error then possibly there is some problem with your hard drive or RAM. there are more chances that you have to change your hard drive.
but you can try one thing just boot the computer using a bootable windows disk and try to full format the hard disk and then install the OS. it should help.
but if there are bad sectors in your hard disk then it seems that you have to change your HD.

Whenever my computer starts up and shows the Windows XP logo it shuts down and shows me while starting up that windows wasn't started up rite. Than after a week it COMPLETELY messes up. I've tried a FULL...

It is one of 2 things....

1. It is overheating. Overheating will cause the computer to randomly shut down. You can usually decifer if it is overheating by trying to put the computer back on after it shuts down. For example , start it up...let it shut down...then try to put it back on again...if it doesn't come on at all, or if it shuts down even quicker then the previous time, you are most likely looking at an overheating issue. To remedy that you want to open up the case, clean out all of the dust with a compressed air can (be very careful not to tip the can, it will spray liquid), and verify that all of the system fans are running.

2. Could be any type of hardware failure - from the power supply to the hard drive. If you have completly ruled out the overheating issue, I would just take it to a shop to get diagnosed.

Computer Shuts Down By Itself

It sounds like the heads that read your hard drive are deteriorating. If you have data that you need on the hard drive hook it up as a slave drive to another computer and save your data now. Because eventually you will no longer be able to access any data on the drive. Then you will have to send it to one of those data recovery places that use clean rooms to recover your data. That will be very expensive.

Or you might have a bad sector in bios. In that case, I am not sure what to do.

No Power

Try holding down F8 when restarting pc. Choose safe mode and run your AntiVirus again. Make sure to empty any quarentine items.
Sometimes this finds a few more. Make sure to turn off system restore before scan and turn back on after.
If this doesn't work you may need to do a format and reinstall your operating system. There are also Hard drive viruses too. If you remember the name(s) look them up on internet for severity level.

Hi, my satellite pro laptop is powered up. I can not shut it off.

If the laptop does not shut down if you go to Shut Down, you can try pressing the power button and see if it shuts down, if not, hold the power button down for 5 seconds and it will power off.
