I took the base cover off removed the pump & opened it up, there was loads of hair wrapped around impeller. reassembled all working fine now. As a separate tip a washing machine hose with a male to male adapter the other end in a bucket works in order to test rather than keep connecting then unconnecting to spa

I've only been in mine tonight for first time and it's already giving me the code
Surely it can't be blocked already ?

If this is an outdoor spa near trees, its almost a guarantee that the impeller is blocked with debris (pine needles can cause this in a hurry)

If the impeller is clean of debris and this is still happening, replace you pressure/flow switch.

My coleman lay-z spa pump is making an intermittent loud sound. All filters are new and spa is clean. What to do?

Could be your motor, bearings going bad or whatnot, pump flow being restricted, bad impeller, or the heater. If it sounds like metal its motor, water noise is the pump flow, and heater is other? I've heard banging and cracks from heater water heating too much and not enough flow. No mater what it is call and see if you warranty is good still.

5 f code after hearing poping noises filter and pump are new

SF (not 5F) = Temperature Sensor or Thermistor
HS = High Limit Sensor
Heaters Set Temperature out of Sync with actual Water Temperature.
Heaters Maximum Water Temperature has been Exceeded.
A few reasons this occurs...
  • Low water flow thru heater, check :
    • Dirty Filter
    • Opened By Pass Valves
    • Plugged pump impeller
    • Dirty/Full baskets at skimmer or pump
    • Anything that may reduce water flow
  • Sensor could actually be doing its job, in a different aspect, Thermostat failure, and water is overheating in spa or pool?
But anyway, your heaters fault code you asked about does not necessarily mean the sensor failed, but is only informing of a problem.

My jacuzzie starts and stops wen it is runing i have a fl code

FL is a flow error, you may not have enough water going over filter housing. Jets are they open?
is your heater fitted with a pressure switch? when on FL locate pressure switch wheel and turn all the way anti clockwise until it stops then slowly wind back until you hear a click reset in control box - you have reset pressure switch.
If you have done this and still show FL or heater is not fitted with pressure switch then your LOW speed on pump maybe faulty (new pump) or heater maybe scaled up with lime scale and reducing water flow through heater - remove scale from heater, flush through and increase ANTI-SCALE

FL code on a Great lakes spa I have turned of power twice code still there also the the water is warm

'Fl' means that there's insufficient flow of water through the heater, or non at all.

1) Check the water level - top up if low.
2) Ensure that all jets are open and flow water - if they don't you may have a pump issue.
3) Remove the filter(s) and see whether or not this clears the fault, if so clean or replace the filters.

I have a Jacuzzi spa that has a FL on the read out.

the FL code is usually an insufficient flow fault. you may have a dirty filter or a faulty flow switch/sensor.
