Wireless intercom doesn't work between two bedrooms

  • helq Aug 10, 2008

There is no synchronization setting available on the outside of this unit.

  • helq Aug 13, 2008

When I first contacted you with this problem I gave you the following info: Westinghouse Wireless Intercom, Model #WHI4

CUPG..These letters/numbers are also printed on the back of the case:MD0701.

I have learned from experience that this unit will not work if TV or flurosecent lights are on, but now it will not work, however all lights and controls seem to work on each unit, but not transmitting between rooms.

Thanks for your efforts to solve this problem. (maybe your telephone # so I can talk to you would be helpful )

Partner 18d phone wont program

Either you're not at ext 11 or you are pressing the RIGHT intercom button. It's FEAT 00 LIC LIC (where LIC is left intercom). If it doesn't work, try the same code from Ext 10. Also, you have to have an 18 or 34 button display set.

How to use the intercom system

  • Check your telephone to see if it has an intercom feature. Many wireless phones that come with multiple units allow you to temporarily turn one unit into an intercom to contact other units attached to the same wireless phone system. Depending on the model, you can contact all the other phones at once, or a single specific phone, by pushing the intercom button and entering the other mode. To put the phone back into regular mode, all you have to do is switch off the intercom option.

  • Contact your telephone provider. Some telephone service providers allow landline phones to call themselves, which enables the phone to function as an improvised intercom. You would simply pick up the phone, dial and then close the connection. Once the phone is answered elsewhere in the house, you will have established a line to another phone and you can speak normally on it. This has largely been eliminated due to lack of need as technology advances, but it may still be an option with some providers.

  • Purchase and install an intercom system that will work through an existing phone line. Many of these products, some of which are produced by Panasonic, operate as a halfway point between a traditional intercom system and a phone line. The exterior intercom links directly to the phone line, and you can pick up the phone and talk through the intercom unit outside once the system is properly set up

    Interference in our wireless intercom

Wireless routers operate on 2.4GHz frequency. It's very possible that your intercom is in the same frequency range causing inerference. Try and find the frequency your intercoms operate on. If you can't find it on the unit, search the internet for the name brand and maybe you will find the info. If this is that case, (as I suspect it is), the only alternative I can suggest is to change your intercoms. Be sure to check the frequency of the new intercoms before purchasing. Anything but 2.4GHZ should work fine.
