Hi there, For normal installation , you have to install Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 for your Imate Jamin and a USB cable,You can download the Microsoft Active Sync software from the link below Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 Once you download the Microsoft active sync , simply run the setup and it will install it automatically, simply follow on-screen instruction, then connect your mobile phone, and it will install your phone drivers automactically If you require more assistance, regarding this feel free to reply to this post Regards-BA
There is no official i-mate upgrade for Windows Mobile 6. However, you can find ROMpacks for WM6 on the XDA forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=356). be aware that these are not supported by the manufacturer and will void any warranty on the device. You also run the risk of making your device inoperable if you do not follow instructions crefully, or install a corrupted ROMpack.
The operating systems on PDAs are different from the normal PC ones. The operating system is stored in the ROM of your PDA, and when you do a hard reset to your PDA, the windows is reinstalled from your ROM. And if there is no ROM upgrade for that particular device by directly from it's brand (sadly there is no ROM upgrade to any other version of windows for that device), you cannot upgrade your device's windows version. There is something called "Cooked ROMs" in the internet containing newer versions of windows, but they are illegal and risky. Anyway, your PDA is designed for that version of windows, including hardware, and newer versions of windows may not work correctly or completely slow down your PDA.
