My Mitsubishit 65511 projection tv won't turn on. Its approx 6 - 7 years old. I tried the system reset button, but that didn't work. I hit the menu and device buttons and got a code of 2 or 22. Can you help?

I looked for this 5 AMP F9A05 locally here in Phoenix for my WS-65311 but could just get 4 AMP Littlefuse Pico II fast acting from FRY's Electronic. I paralleled one with the bad one on the board (with the help of couple of clips) and TV powered up and worked perfectly and noticed the new fuse didn’t open. I then turned the TV off after about 5 minutes to find out what caused the original fuse open first time and make sure the TV doesn’t get damaged and this new fuse would be ok in long run.
Obviously if Convergence ICs were bad the new fuse should pop up too (don’t you think so?) specially when it is even weaker (4 AMP).
Would it be because the dust at the pins of ICs were I cleaned them with pressure air before using the new fuse?
    Any comment appreciated.
    Matt

Check the center circuit board for two bright green picos fuses numbers F9A04 and F9A05 if those are blown replace the convergence IC . The picos are 5amp and the IC is STK393-110 you can get replacement parts at the following link.

My Mitsubishi WS-65511 won't turn on.

I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25. Might be your problem.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65511 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Green light continues to flicker, TV will not turn on or off.

Unplug it for 30 minutes. Then try again.

Let me know and I'll check the service manual. I've got a 65511.

If you have misplaced your remote control, and have engaged the Mitsubishi WS-65511 HDTV Front Button Lock, you can bypass the front button lock by pressing and holding the MENU button on the front panel for more than 8 seconds.

I hope that helps.

Mitsubishi WS-65511 Turning off

Good Day;

Your chassis V21, 2002 model TV has a problem, but to determine what, try this; press the 'input' and 'menu' buttons on the TV"s front panel for at least 10 seconds. Count the blinks (after releasing); eg blink, blink pause 6 blinks = code 26. The code will repeat 3 x's. The most common problem is the convergence IC's are bad or fluid on the boards.

Good Luck, Day let me know, Big Irish.

I just found the solution on another model of Zenith TV. Hold the enter button down on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote. In approx. 5-7 seconds a screen will pop up asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Hit the bullseye button in the middle of the arrows and it will reset. Worked perfectly.

No control of WS-65511

The following solution has been posted in another forum (www.hometheaterspot.com) and it fixed my remote problem:

"...it's possible that one of the front panel buttons is "stuck" or shorted, and this could cause the TV to ignore commands from the front panel or remote. But this should also cause the Power command to be ignored, too. You might try pulling off the front panel and disconnecting the front panel buttons and then see if the remote works."

Mitsubishi will not turn on

If the green light flashes, thats an indication that there is a problem in the sweep power supply or the horizontal drive circuit. Its not a problem a layman or unexperienced person should attempt to repair unless you know about electronic circuits and how they work.
