It takes the Clipper Undulated Heavy Duty 3/8" Staples. On the back of the stapler, there is a loading rod. Remove the loading rod and place a set of staples in the chamber, then re-install the loading rod.

"The staples load from the rear of the stapler. At the back end of the is a piece of black plastic that extends beyond the end of the stapler. This device holds the staples inside the stapler. Howdy, pull out the plunger to its farthest and turn stapler upside down (staple output pointing up) and lay staples in track (in front of plunger) then push plunger back in.

Super handy when you get used to it:)
