Is it safe 2 install these subs 2 a 2000 watt power acustic amp and if so how do I wire them for a 1 ohm stable load

It looks like you have the Power Acoustik OVN1-2000D Mono Block 2000 Watt amp.
Monoblocks all feed speakers normally and cannot be bridged. So hookup your speakers
as normally with + on the amp to + on the speaker and same with the -.
Now for the speakers. I dont know too many Kicker speakers that are 1 ohm but the
monoblock wont care. It will feed the 8,4,2 or 1 ohm speakers the same power. You just may
get less response from the higher ohm speakers-less Bump Bump. You could wire your speakers
in series to get a lower ohm load (2-4ohm speakers in series gives the amp a 2 ohm load) and get
better response. Here is a site that answers many electrical and speaker questions.

I was wondering what wattage amp I should have for my 2 kenwood excelon 1600 watt rms 12s an if I should wire them parallel

first thing are the subs 1600rms a piece? If so, buddy you need about 3000 watts rms. No less than 2000 to do them justice. Wiring parallel depends on the ohm load of the subs, if they are dvc's and the lowest ohm load the amp can handle. Not all amps are 1ohm stable.

Can someone please show me how to wire my subs to amp.. i have a 2600 watt planet audio 2 channel amp (2 ohm stable) and my subs are soundstream tarantulas t4 12s 900/1800 watts total. they are 1 ohm subs...

for your subs and amp the best way would be for the speakers to be wired in series1ch (mono or bridged)to have a 4 ohm load to your amp stable at 2 ohms

you will need more than one speaker wire for wiring the subwoofers coils(positive & negative terminals) together

I have Sony xm-2165gtx amp 165 watt rms x 2 at 4 ohm 200 watt x 2 at 2 ohm 400 watt x 1 bridge output at 4 ohm stereo or bridge mono output 4 ohm stable in bridge mode this mean can't go lower then 4 ohm...

You can't bridge that amp onto a load lower than 4 ohms. So you can't bridge that amp onto two 4 ohm subs. To get the most power out of your subs is easy. Run one channel to one sub and the other channel to the other sub. 165 watts RMS is plenty for most subs.

Can I hook up 2 lanzar opti1532 subs 2 a kicker kx 1200.1 or do I need a bigger amp, its a 1ohm stable amp an birth sheet says 1390watts but they told me at 14+ volts it will do 1400rms

Based solely on spec sheet information the Lanzars can handle 1300 watts RMS and the KX1200 is rated at 300x1 @ 4 ohms, 600x1 @ 2 ohms, & 1200x1 @ 1 ohm. Even with a 1 ohm load you will still only be providing 600 watts to each sub. While the kicker will provide more power at 14+ volts, no car creates more than 12-13 volts via its alternator. A car battery only provides 12.6 volts. So you will be loking at 1200 watts from 1 channel as a best case scenario.

Additionally, with your 2 subs, they will need to both be Dual 4 ohm voice coils in order to net a 1 ohm final load. Each voice coil will need to be wired in parallel and then each speaker needs to be wired in parallel.

it depends on the impedance of the subs-if your subs are dual 4 ohm coils then you can parallel the coils which will give you 2 ohms per sub- you could get max performance from your amp by just wiring the 2 ohm speaker load to each channel of the amp which will hit them with about 200 watts rms each. another way to do it is to wire the coils in series which will make each sub an 8 ohm load and then parallel them together and that will show a 4 ohm load -which you can use to run the amp safely in bridged mode. This will give you exactly the same amount of power to your subs as in 2 ohm stereo will. so with your amp being 2 ohm stable in stereo or 4 ohm stable in bridged mode- those are the numbers you want to hit for maximum"safe" operation

2 12" dvc subs 2 ohm stable amp

+ on amp output to + on speaker #1 to + on speaker #2. - on amp output to - on speaker #1 to - on speaker #2. This is a parallel circuit....4 ohms in parallel with 4 ohms = 2 ohms. IF it were wired in series....would represent 8 ohm load.

The 2 sets of terminals are connected internally. Having 2 sets just makes it more convenient when wiring multiple subs. The amp is rated for 900 watts RMS into a 2 ohm load. The specs claim that it is stable at 1 ohm but does not give a power rating.

The Radial SD competition series from Phoenix Gold are rated to handle up to 600 watts RMS. If you have the model RSdC124 with dual 4 ohm voice coils, it would be best to wire the voice coils in parallel for a 2 ohm load and connect the sub to one set of terminals on the amp. If your sub is the model RSdC122 with dual 2 ohm voice coils, you should wire the voice coils is series for a 4 ohm load and connect the sug to one set of terminals on the amp. Wiring the voice coils in parallel will result in a 1 ohm load. And, while the amp may be stable at 1 ohm, the sub will be seriously overpowered.

Three 4 ohm subs can be wired parallel for a 1.34 ohm final load or series for a 12 ohm load. If you have the channels of the amp bridged, I hope that the subs are connected in series because the Sony XM-2200GTX is NOT rated for or stable at 1.34 ohms. It's only stable down to 4 ohms.

You definitely will not get the maximum potential of the subs from that amp. They can handle 400 watts RMS each (total 1,200 watts) and the amp is only capable of 500 watts RMS into 4 ohms (less at higher impedance), so each sub could only be getting a maximum of 166.6 watts RMS.

Sub Wiring

Hello jtkpay,

Rockford-Fosgate claims their latest V-power 1500bd is stable to 1 ohm, and I would think that your Oldschool would also be. The 2 wiring options for 3 subs with 2 ohm dvc would give you a 1.34 ohm load and a 3 ohm load. The 1.34 ohm option would mean more watts to the subs, but the amp will run hotter. The diagrams look like this:

Using just 2 of the Kickers, you can wire 3 different ways, with final impedances of 0.5 ohms, 2 ohms, or 8 ohms. You do not want the 0.5 ohm load. It's bad for the amp. You don't want the 8 ohm load. It doesn't allow the amp to produce as much power. So that leaves only the 2 ohm, with coils in series and subs in parallel. It looks like this:

Amplifier loads

A single 4 ohm speaker wired to each channel, like you have them wired, presents a 4 ohm load. And it appears that you have them connected properly. The 401s is only stable to 4 ohms when bridged, so if you were to parallel the 2 4 ohm subs in bridged mode, the load would be 2 ohms and the amp would most likely overheat and go into protection.

I'd wire them the way you have them wired.

Each channel of the amp outputs only 100 watts into 4 ohms. That is adequate for regular full-range speakers, component speakers, mid-range drivers, and even some small subs. But it is a little low on power for most subwoofer applications.
