Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

5 Answers

I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer. During a cycle the timer would stop and I would attempt to advance it hoping to solve problem. Didn't seem to work. Once in awhile I could get the cycle to advance but it would again stop and never complete the cycle. Sometimes when I dropped the cover it seemed to restart the cycle, but wouldn't complete. I took the timer out and replaced it new. Same problem exists with new timer. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I've attempted to converse with a machine here at FixYa. I am not satisfied. I've tried to explain the problem. Does anyone actually read this stuff or is it a machine that gives standard answers. If there is a live person that reads this stuff I reiterate for the third time; I've replaced my timer with a "BRAND NEW" timer. The problems outlined continue. Can anyone hear me???

HI,

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

If the timer is not advancing in either the timed or automatic cycle, you will probably need to replace it.

then i would suggest you to try a hard reset by leaving the machine plugged off from the power for one night. this will help you to clear off any errors ..

if the machine does not continue then you will have to flash your machines memory sir.

      thank you
      sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Yes it is a timer issue, and yes the whole timer will need to be replaced. If you are handy it is not very hard. You can order the timer from marcone.com with your model # and it will show you a parts breakdown so you can see hoe to replace it easier

Whirlpool Ultimate Care will not stop spinning

I work on these every day for the past 8 years and have never once seen this problem. If i had to guess i would assume its a stuck contact on the timer. The timer is the only thing that sends power down to the motor but its an expensive guess.

    Hope this helps _MJ_

Whirlpool Ultimate care II doesnt' advance through

Lean washer on its back and check for broken wire from the motor wire harness up the back panel.
If you find the wire repair it and make sure the wire harness is secure in the provided clips.

Whirlpool ultimate care II stops during cycle

THe most likely cause for this is either the lid switch or the timer itself sticking.
