Question about HP 640 Inkjet Fax Machine
I have an HP640, and have distinctive ring from the phone company. I switched it to Distinctive Ring, called from another phone, it rings two-times, twice & the machine says DRPD OK!. Then, I switch the RCV mode to DRPD. I can send a fax perfectly, but when I try to receive a fax, the dinstinctive ring rings twice each, two times, and the fax machine answers it, and it says RECEIVE on the display, yet nothing prints out, and there is nothing stored in memory. I printed a test page, and an alignment page, and it seems everything is working. Tech support via phone and email to HP was useless, as expected. Anyone else have any ideas? I have DSL with a computer connected to the same line. Would a DSL filter hinder an incoming fax, but not an outgoing one? Is there any chance the computer is receiving the fax somehow, and I don't know about it?
Any help would be so appreciated! I just started a small business and this is killing me! Thanks in advance for your help! -Kris
You need a dedicated ANALOG phone line.
A DSL filter screens out ANALOG signals to a DSL device.not the other way around. There are no DIGITAL fax machines.
