My refrigerator is leaking water. It seems to be coming from the button on the side that turns off the light.

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FFPH45F4LM, is leaking water from the button on the side that turns off the light. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing water to leak from the button area. Hope this is helpful.

Water leaking from top of kenmore refrigerator model 253

Almost certainly a blocked drain hose. Hose can usually be accessed from the back, it drains to a catch pan, usually on top of the compressor/motor. Best unblocked with a blast of compressed air if you have a compressor otherwise feed a long piece of whipper snipper chord or similar up from the bottom to dislodge the blockage (and/or down from the top if you can access the drain hole from where the leak appears inside the fridge). Good luck, hope this helps.

Icetube leaking water inside freezer and outside back of freezer

Your refrigerator needs a new water valve and possibly some new water tubing. You can find the correct part by going to sears.com and entering the refrigerator's model number in the parts search field. When you have the valve, shut off the water to the refrigerator. If you're not sure how to do that, just shut off water to the entire house. Be sure to run the kitchen sink after you shut the water off to relieve any presure and double check that the water is completely shut off.

Be sure to unplug the refrigerator before you start this project...water and electricity aren't friends! Using a 1/4" nut driver or socket, remove the cardboard or metal cover off the back of the refrigerator. Follow the water line to the water valve, unscrew the nut going to the valve, and remove the water line. There are 2 screws holding the water valve to the refrigerator cabinet; remove the screws and gently pull the valve out. Unplug the electrical connectors and remove the water lines. Take the new valve, connect the water lines and electrical plugs, screw the valve back into place, attach the water line and turn the water back to to test for leaks.

Since the valve has been leaking inside your freezer it would be a great idea to clean out your freezer and let the water tube and lines thaw. Find a place for your frozen food, unplug the unit and let it sit overnight with the doors open. Don't forget to remove the ice bin, as these make quite the mess when the ice melts. Once it's thawed, plug it back in, make sure the water is on and not leaking and enjoy!

My ice and water dispenser is leaking

I am not an expert on refrigerators, but generally you hook a 1/4" (copper or plastic) line to a solenoid valve to the back of your refrigerator, which you then hooks up to a filter, which then ties into an existing compression fitting, or saddle tap on a cold water line (usually on the kitchen sink). Some refrigerators have a place for a filter to fit which runs to the cold water, and not an exposed rear solenoid.

Kenmore coldspot - How do you remove the ice maker box to clean

I have the exact same Kenmore and exact same model #77292798. It's the top freezer model with ice maker. Here's what I did:

Empty everything in the freezer.
Turn water to ice maker off from source behind unit.
Remove bottom panel (two screws)
Every screw in the freezer is the exact same size. I used a screwdriver style socket and, I think
this works the best.
Remove ice maker (4 screws) and unplug from socket.
Remove rear panel (2 screws).

My freezer was loaded with ice underneath the bottom panel. The ice scraped away easily. There is a tin pan underneath the coils that drains toward the middle where the drain hole is. Again, my freezer was full of ice beneath this tin pan and, I had to scrape away. You may be tempted to try and remove the coil because it would be easier to get to drain hole. I tried this and, it did no good. Don't try it. Once all the ice was scraped away, I realized that the drain hole was plugged with ice. I used boiling hot water and used a squeeze bottle to pour the hot water into the drain hole. I then wrapped a paper towel around a thin screwdriver and used that to soak up the now cold water in the drain hole. After doing this a dozen times or so, the drain finally cleared.

Then, reassemble. This was a much easier task than I thought it would be and, will take care of it much quicker next time.
