I have a HP Deskjet F4180 printer. I got a new Dell computer but I cannot find my software disk to download onto the computer. Can I order a new disk or is there some other way to download this program.

There are a tweaks on cartridges that cant be recognized:

Try to follow these steps:

if a particular cartridge appear to be unrecognized : Try to perform a cartridge replacement using your computers printer software maintenance option.

follow the steps then remove the affected cartridge. remove it then install it back in. this will force the printer to recognize it along with computer which syncs its chips as you noticed which is seen on every printer cartridge.

now let your printer driver (as called for software) let it charge by clicking on the computer not on your printers charge buttons.

This usually works with expensive black inks that are not being recognized

I am unable to set MX90 as a printer. It is not shown me the option when I go to Roland MetanzaStudio menu -set up the printer- Please help

========================== How do I get computer to recognize printer? You have a problem. Your computer does not recognize the printer. Moreover, you cannot reinstall the printer driver or software because you have misplaced the CD. Well, don't worry. The steps given below will help you out.
STEP 1: Checking the Cable and Power Supply
The simplest step comes first. Just check whether the printer cable is connected to the computer securely. Moreover, also check whether the printer power cord has been plugged in properly.
STEP 2: Uninstall Old Printer Software, If any
If you have had an older printer, then make sure that printer drivers and software are uninstalled from the computer. If you don't, the computer might not recognize the new printer. This problem is common in inkjet printers.
STEP 3: The Paper Size
A simple matter like the incorrect selection of paper might also lead to this problem. If the printer paper size does not match the size set in the printer settings, than the computer might not recognize the printer.
STEP 4: Restart
There are times when all it requires is to restart the computer. This is in case where you have connected the printer after loading the driver. If this is the case, then just restart your computer.
STEP 5: No Pass through Device
This is actually an extension of your first step. Make sure that the printer cable has a direct connection to the computer. No pass through devices must be used for this purpose.

Printer not being recognized by computer

1. Is the printer turned on?
Make sure the printer is turned on.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the electrical outlet.
Test the power by plugging in the power cord of another electrical appliance to an electrical outlet and turn it on. If the power to the other electrical appliance comes on, the printer may be considered to be faulty.
If this product is recognized:
Close this page to return to the installation window.
If this product is not recognized:
Proceed to the next step.
2. Are your computer and the printer correctly connected?
Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to the printer and to your computer and check that the USB cable is not damaged nor badly crimped.
The printer will not be recognized during the driver installation if connected to a printer switch or the printer buffer. If this is the case, try to directly connect the printer to your computer using the USB cable.
If you are connecting the printer to your computer via a USB hub, connect the printer to the first-tier hub from your computer. If the printer driver is still not recognized on your computer, try to directly connect the printer to your computer without the USB hub.
If you are connecting the printer to your computer via a USB hub, make sure the USB hub device is recognized by your computer.
If this product is recognized:
Close this page to return to the installation window.

Changed the ink cartridge and now the printer doesn't recognize the computer.It says the printer is idle. What do I do?


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Try another USB Printer Cable, that noramlly solves the problem,, if it still doesn't recognize it then you must send it in to check the Mainboard of the printer which will also cause the problem

The link above is the driver for that printer. Download that driver and then install it. Once you install it, the computer should recognize it.
