Sounds like your printer queue is clogged..it will need to be completely cleared.

Print que on hp 4300 says "printing" but nothing happens and I cannot clear que

Hello,

This is a common problem with Windows machines. If a print job gets corrupted in the print que it will stop and block all other jobs from printing. It will also block the job from being deleted normally. You have to stop the print que service and then delete the print jobs from the que. Here is a link to a full article that shows how to stop the que, delete the print jobs and restart the que to restore printing.

Only prints first job - can't delete from que

Please try this approach instead:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

I hope this information has been helpful.

My printer is plugged in, all of the software is installed, there is both color and black ink, the power is on and the test pages printed no problem, but it wont print anything else. it has a que set up...

It could be a print spooler problem. You have to clear the print queue first before sending out a new print job and make sure the print spooler service is running. Follow these steps on how to clear the print jobs stuck in the print queue:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder

3. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

4. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print spooler service)

5. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

Won't work - just sits there - multiple jobs in que - que says nothing - when i pause one job they all pause - when i resume one job they all come off pause but don't say printing or waiting or anything?

Turn off the printer unplug the printer also unplug the PC from the wall or power supply if lap top. Then push the power button in on the computer with it unplugged. Now restart the computer and turn on the printer at the same time. I hope this assisted you. It was jammed with print jobs you will reset default this way. Start fresh if you have to reinstall the original software if this does not work. Thanks for using FixYa! John

HP P1005 PRINT JOB SITS IN QUE, WO'T PRINT

Does it show "Printing" or "Spooling" in the job queue window?

Open the Job queue window, then highlight and cancel the print job. Send a small print job to the printer and make sure that the PC and the printer are communicating.

If the failure re-occurs, then clear the queue again and close it and restart i=the queue.

Hp 1320n cant print jobs simultaneously from different users

You may need to add memory to the printer so it can que the jobs. The memory is very cheap...128MB 100-pin DIMM for HP OEM# C9121A

Or...you could setup a printer server que and let the print server manage the jobs for you instead of having the printer hold the que.
