I think you have bad CCFLs, (Cold cathode fluorescent lamps) they look like small flourescent lights and are used to light the screen. On smaller than 17" screens there are two, one on top and one on the bottom. 17" and larger monitors have 4 with real big ones having 6. If you attempt to change them be very careful not to crack the screen and remember the order of all the layers of the screen. The cost of the CCFLs along with the difficulty in doing this repair makes it not worth most peoples trouble....good luck

The fuses are on either side of the connector. They are semi transparent SMD chips. It's easy to see if they are flow or not, just look at them with a magnifier.

The problem with my monitor is everything works, I get a picture. But after turning the monitor on, the backlight almost immediately goes out, but you can still see the picture just barely.

Any advice on where the problem is? I'm guessing on the inverter board. No obviously blow parts. Capacitors maybe? There are to large electrolytic cap on the inverter one for each side.

Has anyone actually repaired one of these successfully? And what was the failed component?

Inverter does nothing when I hook it up, no lights, no noise, no AC Voltage from power recepticles.

Check the fuses on the internal circuit board. If the unit is new, the shipping insulator may still be in place.

No power on my lt26hve flatscreen olevia tv

No power can mean many things, but since you've asked another question about the main fuse value I'll also use this chance to remind you that when a fuse blows it is usually to protect other components because of a failure in the board.

In other words, replacing a fuse with a good one alone hardly ever makes things work.

Most of the time - especially if it is the main fuse - it will just blow again.

And the resolution is to have the board repaired or replaced.

I can see power boards are hard to find and cost north of $80 , which is a lot for 26'' TV repair.

While we haven't serviced that board before , we'd be open to taking a look and seeing if we can make it work..and if we do it will be for the reasonable price of $65 including return shipping. (note for future readers: price may change at any time, so make sure to check with us first!)

At the very least, you don;t have much to lose by sending it - we will pay you the shipping costs if we can't fix it and you decide to abandon it with us.

If interested use to start the process.

If not...get a new board and hold your fingers crossed!

Hope this helps!

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.4_8_2012_3_44_22_pm.jpg

Refrigerator does not appear to be getting power, no lights, don't here motor running

If you have no lights or hear the motor running, I would check the house circuit breaker first and measure the voltage at the outlet. If that is within specs then the one thing that could cause your problem in the refrigerator is the power control board P/N: 6871JB2047A

How would you test the power supply blacklight inverter borad to find out why it is blowing the fuse.

If you can find the connection that actually connect the lighting system, this will remove the load and the fuse will remain good. Better still run a voltage check across the fuse line with a DMM, to save further damage to the TV. At best replace this power inverter board!

Sharp TV LC154U

LC154U ?? Do you mean LC-15AV4U or LC-15SH4U ?

Either way.... if it is the back light(s) the actual lights that light up the display... you will not get these... you will need to replaced the whole LCD panel. The inverter.. on that model, I believe it is built on to the main board... and the main board would have to be fixed or replaced.

Even knowing that your tv is an older model, you can still send it to SHARP to get an estimate on repair (1-800-BESHARP). You will have to pay for shipping it to SHARP, and they will want you to pay a $50 Evaluation Fee & $30 to cover shipping unit back to you. If you choose not to repair it.. it will be shipped back to you un-repaired. if you choose to fix it... then the $50 will go towards the repair bill.

Convergance green image is to far to the right and goes into a double image

If you know how to solder and unsolder and understand the circuitry of a tv set, then those are the IC's you will most likly need to change. I would look at the fusable links on the board also. If you dont have the training for TV's, this is not the place to begin experimenting with. good Luck
