Question about U-Line Icemaker

1 Answer

Ice Maker Hi, You sound like you know an ice maker. So many of the answers I've gotten were just guesses and we've already done that. One answer was all about my refrigerator and cleaning the coils, obviously didn't read the question, thoroughly. This unit seems to be short-cycling. If we turn the ice thickness all the way up, it starts to freeze then immediately defrosts. The unit isn't even four years old, yet. The unit worked perfectly until we moved it to replace the leaking water line. Because of this everyone suspected circuit board (replaced that!) and freon (checked and ok!), but it seems like we're overlooking something. How do we get the water tray to freeze and stay at a freezing temp long enough to make ice cubes? Joy Brown

I'm looking for a lid for my old ice cream maker. Where can I get one?

I already answered your question. Don't ask twice - it won't get you an answer any faster. You need to provide more information - make and model. You can do a Google search and you can also go to eBay. Say if you want an actual vintage ice cream maker or just an old fashioned one. Here again, do a search for what you want.

How do I get the ice maker to produce for the first time

Is the arm that gets pushed up by the ice cubes (in order to stop making ice when it is full) in the down position? it is able to be pushed up and locked so that the icemaker doesn't make at ice and may need to be pushed down.

My IM115 frigedaire ice maker, doesn't seem to be making ice fast enough

The key to ice production is temperature, so if the unit is running at "0" the fan also has to run to cool faster. That a good look at these items and see where the issue may be. In this environment point blank information is the only way anyone could assist you. Lack of information causes no response or incomplete answers. Check the temperatures also check the ice maker for pealing or flaking mold issues. Good luck

Ge refrigerator gts22wcm ice

Inspect the ice maker itself, sounds like either you have a jammed cube or your ice maker is not turning on heater to eject ice cubes from mold. If heater is the failure - replace ice maker. If unit is jammed, clear the ice maker mold and allow to cycle to see if damage was done to gear or ice production is restored.

Good Luck

Icemaker is warm and stopped making ice

The ice maker has a heater that comes on just before the ice dumps to assist in releasing the cubes. Sounds to me that you need to unplug the ice maker and begin a search for a new replacement ice maker=> 67004-S Ice Maker Assembly
You may want to call them to see if the ice maker is rebuildable because the price for the ice maker is really high. If you have questions I will be here to answer them for you, Thanks Sea Breeze

There will be several items to check that can get your ice maker back to operational. First you will need to see if the ice maker is refilling after each batch. Us a light or feel to see if ice maker is empty from the last cycle. If no water is in the ice slots use a cup and pour tap water into the empty ice slots to about the top of the ice maker. Allow water to freeze and if the cube's dump into ice bin. If then water does not refill the ice maker I believe the dual water control valve=> 67005154 Dual Water Control Valve is at fault.

Hi, Just replaced the optics on the Whirlpool icemaker. They seem to be working fine but still no fill and no ice. What a pain.

Below I found a website that might answer your questions, this is not a big problem.
Optics Video
Below the video is a picture of the board, it shows you how to jump the circuit to advance the ice maker, this also can be done without removing the board. By using a standard screw driver the make contact between the black and black with white tracer. This will advance the ice maker into a harvest mode and prime the ice maker.
Good Luck

Ice maker not dumping ice

Make sure the freezer is at least 17 degrees or colder (colder is better). If you have a square cover on the end of the ice maker see if you can pull it off and press on the gear face (don't turn just press). That may clean the electrical contact springs and get it working again. Basically if ya got water, 17 degrees or colder you will get ice. Other than that the ice maker motor module is likely bad (broken gear, etc.). Pretty common.
