Remove the hard drive from the computer and connect it into an USB hard drive adapter. Then connect this adapter and hard drive into a working computer's USB port. This computer will see this as an external storage device, then open the various folders and files on this external hard drive and copy/backup the data.
If the computer cannot detect this USB external storage device then most likely the hard drive gas failed.
Replace the hard drive and check to if the BIOS can detect the hard drive, if OK then check the RAM and you may need to reinstall Windows to get the computer working again.

It seems that that there is some problem with the power supply or in the mother board. Or there might be minor problem ... but for the data it seems it's safe. but you can get your data by removing the hard-drive from the faulty computer and attach it with working one. In this way you can get you data back. But best way is to get your computer fixed up. Your data is all safe.

Without trying any experiment I suggest that your friend take the hard disc and recover all the data after attaching the hard disc to a PC or get help from any PC service to give you the cables for transfering to a laptop through the USB.

I am trying to unistall elibrary software and i am getting an error message 1324 the path sony reader contains an invalid character

Hi!

You can try to manually remove the software and reinstall, BTW there is no operation system detailed. But here's a solution for windows XP, Vista and 7

Windows XP:
Open My Computer .
In the My Computer window, go to the following path
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\
Delete the folder called "kinoma"

Then go to the following path:

C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\Local Settings\Application Data \
Delete the folder called "kinoma"
Delete the "Sony Corporation" folder

Windows Vista® and Windows® 7 operating system operating systems:

Open Computer on your Desktop

Go to the following path:

C:\ProgramData\
Delete the folder called "kinoma"

Now go to this path:
C:\Users\"your username"\AppData folder\Local\
Delete the folder called "kinoma"
Delete the folder called "Sony Corporation"

GoodLuck!

Restart the computer. If you are already in Windows, you can do this from the Windows Start menu, go to Turn off computer and click Restart. I need to know how to install Windows XP on Mac. Thank you!

The easiest, and my personal favorite, is to use Parallels Desktop for Mac:
http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/

If you're not into desktop virtualization (running an OS inside of another OS at the same time), you can do something called dual boot, in which you'll have the option after you turn the computer on to use either Windows XP or Mac. You'll have to reboot everytime you want to switch, though.
http://nirlog.com/2006/03/18/winxp-and-osx-dual-boot-in-macbook-pro/

Remember to keep a current backup of your data before attempting a Windows XP installation.

Shows that the system has encountered an eror

If it is a Blue Screen Error., and it is nit letting you work, then Re-installation of XP Would be the option...
But before you re install, make sure you back up your required data.....

(If it is a desktop computer, you can take out the hard disk, and connect it to another computer- probably your friend's computer, and boot from his computer, and copy the required data from your HDD (Hard Disk Drive) , to His HDD )...

"error loading Operating system "

Try Windows repair:

Windows XP
- Turn system on press f12 "repeatedly"
- Select dvd/cdrom drive
- Boot to OS
- Windows will load some important setting.
- Run windows REPAIR

Windows Vista

-turn on system press F8
-select repair
-windows will load some important setting
-run windows repair

last option:
make the hdd a secondary hdd from another pc and do back-up your data.

Downside of this last option you need to do clean reinstall or check manufacturer if you do have IMAGE PARTITION.

Hopefully this will help..

Continuous restarting with winxp

On computers that contain Windows 98 and Windows XP: ? Windows 98 must be installed on a basic disk on a partition formatted with FAT or FAT32. If Windows 98 or Windows Me is not installed on the system partition, which is almost always the first partition on the disk, the system partition must also be formatted with FAT or FAT32. ? Compressed DriveSpace or DoubleSpace volumes won't be available while you are running Windows XP. It is not necessary to uncompress DriveSpace or DoubleSpace volumes that you will access only with Windows 98. ? Windows XP must be installed last. Otherwise important files needed for starting Windows XP could be overwritten
