Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Same problem I have the same TV and exact same problem. I'm wondering roughly how much the parts would cost. Also is this a job someone like me could do? I am very mechanical but no TV or electrical experience. Thank you Jim

Andrews Electronics www.andrewselectronics.com have an ETA of 9-6-8 on the part or you can contact www.wehaveparts.com I would either replace both IC`s or get a tech to do it, you can get them by calling this number 800-575-9833, they only sell the good ones. And yes you can do it just remember what and where you disconnected the plugs from so you can connected thenback.Do not have the set pluged in. But also some adjustmes might have to be done in the and you may need a tech for that si I would prefer ab expert.

Your TV needs the convergence amp IC's replaced. The parts are about $60 for the Sanyo Type. They will last longer. Your previous TV Tech is most likely replacing these IC's and charging you for a new board.
Check with your local BBB to find an honest TV Tech. This job should not cost much over $325.

It does sound like your color wheel is bad. They are not very expensive (less than $150) But, I don't recommend trying to replace it yourself. Find a factory authorized shop to do the work. Labor should be $300 or less for this job.

Symptoms shows TV got problem in Horizontal deflection area that's why you do not see picture and get only sound.I think its not worth to repair as its 14 years old model and spear parts might not be available or cost too much. Since you still want to repair it, let me know exact model number of TV to check parts are available some where?

Follow up on "no power to my tv"

Let me give an idea ...after the fuse you have the bridge rectifiers and it can be all in one package or 4 individual diodes after that you have a big filter capacitor and then a power transistor called the switch mode regulator, this are major parts that can make the fuse blow up right away as soon as you plug the set in wall but these parts work along with about 30 other minor parts. If the fuse blew up at plug in it can be one of these but if it blew at turn on from the power botton it can go farther down the power supply,is hard to tell how much is damage and how much it will cost.Get an estimate and then decide.Good luck

All of the convergence IC's should be replaced at the same time! Its not a job for a user to do without the experience. This repair should range in the way of between 250 all the way up to 400 bucks. good Luck
