If you are able to make copies ok, I mean you get a full page of the copy, but when receiving a fax you're getting only half a page that could be a problem with the line.
First, let's make sure you have all the settings right.
Make sure that you have the phone cable plugged in to the port where it says line at the back of the fax machine with the other end going directly to the wall jack. (If that is a digital phone line that you have, the more that you'll have difficulty in receiving faxes, because fax machines are designed to work on analog phone lines only)
Also, try turning Off your Error Correction Mode (could be found either on Basic or Advanced fax settings)
If you have an answering machine on the same line with the fax, set it to 2 rings lower than the fax machine's number of rings, that way when a call comes in, the answering machine picks it up first, if a fax tone is heard, fax machine picks up.
It is not recommended if you have a voicemail on the same line with the fax, if you do, it's either request to turn it off from the phone company or request for a distinctive ring, then set the distinctive ring by accessing your Advanced fax settings.
If you have all those notes above set, and you're still not being able to receive your faxes, let's check on your line. Try to plug the fax machine to a different wall jack and have someone send you a fax, if you receive the fax, then the wall jack where your fax was previously plugged in to must be faulty. Call your phone service provider for the issue.
If you're still having the same issue with the fax, with it plugged in on a diff wall jack, call the customer care hotline for your product.
