Hello If the power indicator is blinking on the front of the VIERA, turn off the TV and unplug all HDMI cables that are connected to the TV. Then unplug the power cable from the current power source. Try a different electrical outlet. Remove the power cable from the rear of the TV and plug it back it in (the power cable tab is inserted correctly when you hear a click). Just unplug the tV from AC powwer wall socket, let it be at theis state for about 30 minutes, replugh the TV only, and check whether the fault rectifes. OK.
The fact that the television stays on for hours and other times turns in five minutes shows that your problem is intermitent .A defective component in the power supply is probaly causing the B plus voltage to go up.The TV can also have a dry joint which looks more likley i am curtain if you gave the TV a firm tap to the side when it come off it would come on back. Try it .
A temporary solution is to unplug the TV for a few minutes, remove static from the glass with your hand. It is important to unplug rather than turn off. If you have a degauss button you can also press that before unplugging. Wait several minutes or an hour. Then plug it back in. If you have Picture in Picture it may be an issue with that and to permanently solve may need a repair person. The unplugging may get you by for a few days at a time. That's at least better than an hour.
[9V line missing from P/S; OCP circuits use IC641 (9V regulator) to turn off TV in case of a current overload]. Check for loose connections on R579 and R578.
