Asko T761 Electric Dryer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 26, 2011

I have an asko T760 Butterfly dryer. It is stuck on P2 but will not run. I shut off the unit, turned back on. The LCD flashes between P1-P4 and what they are, such as extra dry, dry, normal dry, & iron dry. Just as it should. Yet if I push P2-P4 it does nothing. It only continues to flash as stated above, but if I push P1 it changes to P2 which reads dry on top then below that it flashes between buzzer, Anti-crease, & normal cooling, then below that it reads Temperature normal, then on bottom left reads P2 then next to that it says Stop. Like it was in the middle of a cycle and it stopped. I tried shutting off and unplugged from wall, waited about 20-30 minutes, then tried again, I also tried resetting the child lock, with the menu 5x and P3 5x. Still no good! Any ideas!?

I am aware of the overheating reset button. That is not the problem. I have checked all of the wire connections, cleaned fan and interior vent system, checked door switch still no good. Do you have any other ideas?
    Sincerely, brian

Hi

If it won't show any error messages then try to reset it. To reset it press the reset button (rubber disk) on the back of the machine. You should hear a click when it engages. The machine will not start until it has cooled sufficiently. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Daniel

Reset button is not tripped? I am talking about a rubber disk that is located on the back of the machine...you have to press it to reset the dryer

  • Anonymous Apr 27, 2011

If you already tried to reset it and also checked the continuity of the thermostat located inside the back panel then the issue is with the control board going bad and should be replaced.

Hi.

The machine is telling you that there is overfill, f2 and 4 are faults with overfill system. Lights blinking, pump running and controls dead also indicate an over fill fault :

"1. Disconnect the power to the unit

2. Remove the lower access panels and check the tray under the dishwasher (you will probably find it is full of water)

3. Use a towel or a sponge to remove the water

4. There is a float that should stop the operation of the dishwasher and run the pump if water is in this tray. Check this pump to see if it is functional

5. Test the dishwasher

6. If there are no leaks from the dishwasher into the pan, check the drain hose under the sink

7. THE DRAIN HOSE MUST RUN UP TO THE TOP OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COUNTERTOP THEN DOWN TO THE DRAIN. (If the hose is not set up like this, water from the sink drain will flow into the dishwasher and overfill the tray"

Here all diagrams.

Regards.

Ginko.

Everstar Model MPK 10CR What does flashing P2 mean

Quoting:

Everstar Model MPK-10CR, What does flashing P2 mean?
I have a manual and it only talks about the error, P1, when the water container is for. Says nothing about P2. The unit will just completely shut off and then the red light is flashing and P2 appears in the window.

The filter that allows the water to get to the pump is clogged. Since the pump can't pump the water into the drain bucket, it fills the bottom pan up, the unit shuts down, and the P2 error code is then displayed. Posted on Jun 29, 2011

Where is the filter that is full that is not allowing the water to drain into the drain bucket, and is it something that can be cleaned? w_benjamin Jun 30, 2011
It should be near the pump that pumps the water up to the drain bucket. Each model is different, on my Everstar it was located under the housing for the drain bucket. The back and front of the unit needed to be removed, then the housing for the drain bucket needed to be removed. Not that hard, but a lot of screws. Take it out, then clean it with some dish washing detergent.

Asko Dryer t760 program menu won't change or is frozen The program menu is stuck on one setting, and the P1, P2, P3, P4 buttons don't change the program. When I try to reset the program (by pressing...

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

By stating "the dryer does work" indicates it is likely an issue with programming.

What are the chances you have the menu lock-out option turned "on"...also referred to as "child lock".

You may quickly rule this out or confirm it is the problem indeed, by trying this.

CHILD-SAFE START

1. Turn the machine off then on.
2. Press ENTER five times, then press P3 five
times. (This must be done within 15 seconds.)
3. “Delayed start” displays with “0” flashing in the
lower right corner. Press the Right Arrow button
to toggle the display to “3.”

**NOTE: Child-Safe Menu Button**
Please note that when you set the child-safe Start
button, the Menu button is automatically
programmed to delay for three seconds before it
becomes active. This prevents a child from
accidentally changing the program settings.
When you want to change a program, press the Menu
button for three seconds to activate the menus. The
Menu button will work normally (without the
three-second delay) until you have completed your
changes. If it is not pressed for two minutes, it will
automatically revert back to the child-safe mode.

Let me know if this indeed solves the problem but either way please keep me posted.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I have an ASKO T760 Dryer that continually overheats and then shuts down. I have had a service tech out twice - once to clean the vent and element housing and a second time to clean the "thermister" but...

Check the sensor inside the condenser unit "cage". I read that you can clean inside the little cage with a toothpick. I'm having the same trouble, and plan on trying this before I throw in the towel and purchase a new dryer.

My asko T760 dryer shuts down after a few minutes. It starts again after hitting reset button on back. I read a similar problem was fixed by cleaning the sensor behind the safety cap fixed the problem, but...

Remove bottom panel. The condenser unit is on the left side. Open the section by undoing the clips, and look inside the little "cage". That's the sensor. Remove any lint using a toothpick and you should be good to go!

Asko W640 - sporadically says motor fault and won't run, or, won't stop running, gets stuck on the spin cycle. We've had the motor fault problem before, but this "running on" issue is...

I would say the won't-run problem is separate from the run-on problem. You can live with the run-on problem -- probably a fault in the controller. Unless it's a faulty code, the motor-fault light probably means the motor is overheating. That can be caused by anything that causes it to work hard, such as a stuck pump.
