Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

F06 it's like every other problem I've read so far. I have an F06 code come up at first I could simply press cancel and restart the load. Now, it won't get past the first minute. It fills the machine, waits, fills again, waits, and then fills again. After the 3rd fill, it beeps and F06 flashes. It won't spin. What do I do. I have an extended warranty but I would like to see if I could fix this myself. D

I have the same problem. I unplugged the washer and reset it, nothing helps. I cleaned the drain hose, nothing. I can not even find what the F06 code means. Can anybody Help. If I call sears It will take them 2 or three trips to figure out that I have a problem and another 2 trips for parts. Needless to say the time involved.

FIRST I HAD THE F11 AFTER 2 YEARS AND 1 WEEK. I REPLACED CCU AND MCU AND NOW HAVE F6. THEN I REPLACED THE MOTOR AND STILL HAVE F6. I GUESS I WILL TRY THE HARNESS NEXT. ALL CONNECTORS ARE PLUGGED IN. ANY IDEAS?

Have a similar problem...fills runs a partial cycle then flashes F06 and drains. A reset doesn't solve the problem, nor does shutting off the power. Sears was out to look at it once ... could not recreate and no problem was found ...

I recently had this problem and was able to resolve it, although not without some trial and error. This error code indicates an issue with 1 of 3 parts in the washer - the CCU (central control unit), the MCU (motor control unit) or the motor itself. There is no way to tell which is causing the issue without replacing them one at a time. I started by changing the motor based on other posts I had seen on-line. That was not the problem. Then replaced the CCU - again, not the cause of the problem. Lastly changed out the MCU and that solved the problem. I ended up putting the old CCU back and returning the new one.

My suggestion would be to start with the CCU, move to the MCU, and go to the motor last - the boards are easier to both replace and to return if you find they are not the issue. Good luck.

Maytag maxima codes F06 and E02: Tried doing a spin/rinse/drain on an empty machine. Timer seems tpo be working but cannot hear water filling or barell spin. tried to shut off and door is now locked.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
POWER/CANCEL press for to cancel the error codes.
First to unlock depending on model. There will be a pull tab either under the lower kick panel, behind the filter cover, or under the top panel. Pull this tab to unlock the door. Now you can remove the clothes and water. Refer to the owners manual for the location of your emergency door pull tab.

Door Switch
You will need to remove the door switch to check it. You will perform an ohm reading on the bottom terminals. The reading varies from manufacturers most Frigidaires is around 1500 ohms others like the whirlpool duet is checked at the main control board with the door closed should be around zero ohms. You will need to refer to the tech sheet or service manual for the proper reading.

Main Control Module / CCU
The main control unit is the circuit board located behind the console. If the door switch tests good the main control is usually the problem. Check all connections for a goood tight fit. You will need to refer to the tech sheet or service manual to check this further. The main control is easy to replace.
Power Cord If the washer won't start, check to be sure there is power to the electrical outlet for the home. If that is OK, the power cord itself might be defective. This is rare. You can check the power cord with an Ohm meter for continuity.+fuse thermal +c.breaker

Whirlpool Duet Sport Model WFW8300SW0 basket won't

The following list of codes indicates an electronics communication problem with the washer: - Duet HT washer - F01, F03, F06, F11, F23, F24, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32, F35, F42, F61, F62, F63, F64, F65, F70, F71, and F99

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
  2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.

I would first replace the door latch/lock assembly, a number of users have and it fixed the F-11 error code completely. Its the cheapest part for this problem.

Hope helps.

Code 06

In the manual for a Kenmore washer the instruction for an F06 code (electrical problem) is :

Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN/SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START.

After that, you might try unplugging then plugging it in again.

My kenmore Elite HE3t Giving a code F 06

"F06" is a Motor Speed error code. This is an indication that there is a problem with the Drive Motor, Tachometer, Motor Control Unit (MCU), Central Control Unit (CCU) and/or interconnecting wiring between the all these components. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

I would begin by checking all the connector plugs between the CCU, MCU and Drive Motor to ensure none of them are loose or have corroded contacts.

Read through the link and follow the steps provided. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps.

NOTE: The majority of the time this failure is attributed to a bad tachometer which is located on the MCU. If defective, the MCU must be replaced. There is a technical data sheet that comes with the washer. It is located inside the washer behind the lower toe panel directly below the door. The panel comes off by removing the screws located under bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet is not located directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls. Included are all the diagnostics and troubleshooting advice for your washer, including diagrams to show test points. HINT: For better access to the screws you can prop the two front feet of the washer up using a 2 x 4.
