Hey there,

There are two power wires to consider when installing an in dash receiver. They need to be connected to different sources.

Red gets +12VDC when the Ignition is ON.
Yellow gets +12VDC all the time (Fused line straight to the Battery).

The yellow is most likely the problem. If it's power source is interrupted, the unit will 'forget' it's settings.

Double check your power sources (for both red and yellow) and get back with me (either way),

How do i set the clock on my jvc kd-g420 ?

Setting the clock is usually done on JVC head units by pressing and hold both the EQ button and the SEL button, keep them pressed for about 5 seconds and a menu of options should show and you can scroll through the menu with the forward and back buttons.
If the above button combination does not work, you can try pressing and holding the SEL and DSP buttons and holding for about 5 seconds.

I have a JVC Stereo for my car KD 2320. How do I set the clock?

Here is a link to the manual for that unit - it has detailed instructions with pictures on how to set it.

Or visit your local Car Audio Specialist (hopefully you bought the JVC from one) and they will be happy to set it for you I'm sure.

I recently bought a JVC KD-R311 car stereo, its a great stereo but my settings dont save, for instance i set the perfect sound adjusting bass/treb/mid/loudness and whenever i turn my car back on after...

You need to have the yellow wire from the stereo connected to constant battery/12 volts. That wire supplies power for the memory, if it is connected to ignition power, when you turn off the car, the power for the memory is off also.

Stereo stations wont stay set

If you have a yellow wire that is the memery wire. It needs to be hooked to a constant hot. If you do not have one you need to get a new plug for the back.

It sounds like your stereo is working properly. I've never seen a car stereo that was wired properly that you could turn on and listen to while the car was off with the key removed from the ignition switch. You would have to move the ignition switch to the accessory position in order to get the stereo to work. Hope this helps. Good luck. Mike D.

HOW TO REMOVE JVC KD-PDR61 STEREO FROM CAR WITH THE KEYS PROVIDED

You slide them in on the sides of the radio in between the radio and the mounting sleeve. Push them in all the way and they open up the metal piece that clicks into place and holds the radio in. You can then just pull the radio out.

A "FixYa!" rating would be apprecieated for this free information.

Let me know if you require any more help.
