Dear friends, i have a LG convection microwave MC8083MLR. i was planning to bake a cake in it and so in preparation for it, tried to preheat the microwave to a temp of 180 degrees. however in between the process smoke started coming out of the upper ventilation slots. i immediately switched it off and disconnected the supply. wonder what's gone wrong as this is a brand new system and it was my first cooking in it!! plzzzzzzzzzz HELP.
I would contact LG / Goldstar.

thanx for your reply. the smoke was quite a lot and ther are no panels or seals to be removed before preheating. the manual also doesn't address anything like this.
How much smoke? If it was just a little, then it may be normal "burn off".
If it was a lot, maybe there is some seal or panel that should have been removed before use?
Does the manual address anything like this?
