Aug 9, 2021 - Zamil 2 ton non inverter split type e7 error what is the problem !? ... There is a mode conflict. Some units are calling for heat and one is calling for cooling.
Normal ACs (non inverter) work in the following way
The AC compressor runs continuously till set temperature is reached in the room
The compressor then switches off, but the blower fan in the wall mounter unit keeps running. Durint this time the AC fan blows air out at Room temperature (which feels warmer)
When temperature of room rises then compressor starts running again. During theis period the air coming out from the inner uny is cooled by the condenser coils
And the process is repeated.... as long as you keep AC running
Ac works this way throught the operation period.
Now if you feel that your AC keeps switching off and on very frequently check the following
Your AC may be over powered for room *for example a 1.5 ton AC installed in a scenario where 1 ton is enough)
If there is voltage fluctuation in your area then the compressor may keep shutting don on large voltage swings
Solution: Get a Stabilizer
You have set the temperature setting too high. Max temp suggested for ACs is 25 degree Celsius, any higher will mean the compressor shuts down often. Remember every compressor shutdown and startup draws a high starting current
Set AC temperatures between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius
The thermostat/ Temperature sensor is faulty
Get unit inspected by Authorized technician
There is dust buildup on the outer unit / compressor unit. The dust buildup may cause overheating by preventing efficient heat exchange, This may lead to overheating of compressor and it shuts down to, prevent damage to itself
Get unit serviced by Authorized technician
The fan motor of the outer unit is not working properly
Get unit inspected by Authorized technician
Remember to get the AC serviced at least thrice a year to ensure smooth operation
Cool Thoughts... Cool Life !!!
First off - the 'rule of thumb' is 600' per ton of Air Conditioning. In other words your old unit is a 2 ton unit. So - 2 tons x 600' = 1200'. As you can see if you install the 2.5 ton unit - you will be installing a AC that 'could' cool a 1500 sq ft house (2.5 x 600' =1500 sq ft.). Slightly more than what you need; and the 3.5 ton unit is 'way to big,' (3.5 x 600' = 2100 sq ft.).
Note: fyi - many in the AC business will sometimes refer to tonnage in btu's, i.e. 1 ton = 12000 btu - hence a '2 ton unit' can also be referred to as a 24000 btu unit and vice versa.
So... from the above - you can easily see that "2 tons" of Air conditioning is what is required to cool the 'average' home of 1100 sq ft. "roughly speaking."
Note: it is always best to have a professional 'size' your cooling/heating needs.
One of your questions was could you 'mix tonnage?'
The answer is 'usually you don't mix the tonnage of your outside/inside units.' However, professionals sometimes do (mix the tonnage) in certain situations, and installing a 2.5 ton outside unit with an existing 2 ton inside unit is often done, however, there are some 'tech issues' here and - I would "again" recommend that you call a Service Tech to help you with the sizing/mixing of your cooling/heating needs.
It appears you may have a 5ton unit, if your house is over
2000sq. feet then Im guessing that 60 thats appears in
the model number is equal to 5ton. 12,000 btus per ton
of cooling
I would say you have a freon leak. May be the outside unit is not running now because the low psi switch has it off because it does not have enought freon.
I had a service man come out and he said the compressor was not coming on so he installed a hard start in parallel with capacitor solving the problem and is working normal now.
