When I was cleaning the lint out of my dryer, the door switch wires came loose, and I can't figure out how to connect them again. Is there a picture of how it should be somewhere on the internet?\r\n I have a Frigidaire FDE546RES2

Their is only 2 wires so you cannot mix em up they go either way on the switch.

This dryer won't start

there are thermostats that will pop if the dryer runs to hot,a dryer needs to be pulled apart at least once a year to be cleaned out,all it does is move air,if the vent line is blocked or lint builds up in the duct that the lint filter slides into the thermal fuse or high limit thermostat will pop as a safety,if you don't clean the dryer and vent line the new part will pop again.also the door switch could be broke or the belt could have snapped, some dryers have a safety switch,if the belt snaps the switch will open and the dryer won't start.so first thing you'll need a meter, unplug the dryer, remove the bottom panel, pull out the lint filter, remove the metal duct that the filter slides into,on the top of the blower wheel housing you'll see a white part, this is the thermal fuse, you have to remove at least one of the wires, check it with the meter,if you send the full model number i can look up your dryer, most likely the fuse will be a 3392519 thermal fuse, like i said if the fuse is bad you have to clean out the dryer and vent line or the fuse will pop again.and check the door switch, open the door, push the switch in and out if it makes a clicking sound most likely it's good.let me know what you find and send model number.

Maytag Performa dryer blows fuse after clothes get hot. I cleaned a large buildup of lint from inside the dryer all the way to my roof. I then replaced the hi limit thermostat, thermal fuse and dryer...

Hello,
their are two possiblities causing that

1) while cleaning the lint from the motor a wire accidently got pulled of of the motor switch

2) to me the buzzing when start button is pushed and may or may not start, the motor is bad

When trying the trick to start the motor by hand the door switch also must be pressed in

I have a Maytag PYE2200AYW electric dryer. we had problems a few weeks ago and discovered that the blower wheel was cracked, so we replaced it (part # 31001317). Then a couple days later it just stops and...

Check the thermal fuse and thermostats again to eliminate them as suspects. Both should be zero ohms at room temperature. If you eyed the entire duct system from lint filter to outside of the house for lint, then these are probably OK.

One thing that will shut down a dryer: a defective door switch. If you turn the timer on with the door shut and can hear or see it progressing (running) then the door switch is OK.

If your door switch is operating marginally, the heat can expand the body of the switch and open the circuit (and shut the dryer off until it cools). Check the switch with an ohmmeter with the dryer disconnected from power.

A loose spade terminal on this switch (or anywhere else) can do this too.

Also, a misaligned door or defective door clasp might do this after heating up.

Keep thinking 'heat expands' and you might find it.

The only other thing left is a defective timer.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

My dryer runs for about 30 minutes then just shuts off before the cycle is finished, then I let it sit for awhile then it will come back on and run again. What could be the problem?

Yu have poor airflow through your dryer and the motor it getting hot and tripping the thermal overload. Or your dryer belt is loose and the belt safety switch is being actuated when it gets hot due to the belt stretching with heat.

Inspect and clean your dryer. remove every bit of lint you can find. Pull off the exit ducting and look inside the internal ducting for restrictions... clean clean clean.
Remove the lint filter...and wash it with vinegar and water then soap and water. Look in the area where the lint filter is installed for lint and clean clean clean. Use a folded wire coat hanger if necessary to loosen up the lint.

Go to the outside thru the wall vent and inpect for lint there also. Check BOTH sides of the metal flapper of the vent for lint and clean clean clean.

Once you have done all of the above and you still have the problem.. check belt to see if it is getting loose with heat.

FYI your dryer should push a relaxed and and wrist away from the exit duct. If you do not have this kind of air flow you need to find out why. Either lint build up or a blower wheel failure.. (cracked hub / spinning on the motor shaft.)

If you need parts information I need your complete model number in any future response.

I have a stackable washer and dryer. Both have worked fine except recently clothes started getting caught between the drum and the front frame of the dryer. My husband pulled it apart checked the screws...

You may have a felt seal in the front that needs replaced. A wire off the pin switch could be off, and you will see the pin switch when you open the door, and make sure it is clicking.

My dryer won't start

Un plug it and remove the rear dust cover. On the back side to your left is the blower/filter housing. To your right is the heating element and limits. On the filter/blower housing is a small white component about an inch long with two wires and it is mounted with one screw. This is the duct fuse. The wires are small because they are connected to the door switch. When that blower has a lint restriction that fuse blows. This kills the door circuit and it is the same as if you opened the door. The dryer stops and stays stopped until you take steps to correct the overheating by cleaning out the lint that is causing the air movement restrictions. Light in dryer does not work. Replaced light,

Check power with a voltmeter to the light socket. If there is no power, than either there is a broken wire, or disconnected wire from the door switch.

Fridiaire dryer not turning on (another ??)

Yes, I had the same issue. If I slam the door shut very hard then it would work. So I found the issue is the door safety switch not turning on when the door is closed. Simple fix is to put some masking or duct tape on the door so that it would push the switch when the door shuts. There is an indentation in the door in the top left corner where the door contacts the switch. This causes the door to not turn the safety switch on when closed. Simply fill in the indentation with a little tape and problem solved.

Bosch Dryer lint filer warning

The Bosch Dryer has a temperature probe in the heater exit and in the exhaust area visible when you open the door. If the temperature difference between the two gets to high, the lint filter is assumed to be plugged and the alarm goes off.

It seems that the temperature probe at the heater, can end up with a faulty connection to the control panel over time due to corroded contacts or lint build up. When this happens the control panel thinks the filter is clogged and it may also not turn on the heating elements properly. Remove the back cover over the heating element (12 screws) and then remove the one screw holding the red wiring connection to the dryer body. You can then wiggle out the wiring connection and clean / unplug and replug in the connector for the sensor. (plug with two small wires only). A little hard feeding the connector back through the hole so take your time and don't damage the wires). Should all work again. May want to inspect inside the heater at same time and make sure the overheating switch is not tripped. ( press in the red button).
