This is NOT an electrical issue. Anyone who is half handy with their hands can easily fix this.
I had this issue for awhile, and I just figured it out. There is a plastic strip that cover the the buttons on the tv. They want you to think it is a touch panel, but it isn't. Anyway it is glued on, not screwed or attached in any other way. The reason it keeps changing the source is because the glue expands when it heats up, and causes to source button to be pressed. There are several ways to fix this. You can remove the strip which is long about the length of the tv. Stick a knife or screwdriver under one end and slowly pull it off. Problem is solved, but it makes the screen look ugly. The way to fix this is by using a razor or knife and cutting off the glue (which is really tape) under where the buttons are. You can replace it with better glue, or just eliminate the glue from under the buttons and keep the glue on both ends, so you can re-attach it to the tv.

IF YOU, STILL SUBSCRIBE DIRECTV, YOU MAY GO TO THE MENU, USING THEIR CLICKER AND GO TO THE PART OF MENU, WHERE YOU CAN CHOOSE TV TO OPERATE WITH DIRECTV REMOTE. YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO CHANGE ANYTHING ON TV BY USE DIRECTV REMOTE, BUT TO OPERATE IT'S CONTROL BOX. REALLY, YOU CHANGING CHANNELS ON THAT BOX, NOT TV ITSELF. IF YOU'RE NOT A SUBSCRIBER, FORGET THAT REMOTE! UNLESS YOU'RE A CUSTOMER, IT WON'T HAPPEN. JUST "GOOGLE" YOUR MAKE AND MODEL FOR A SUITABLE UNIVERSAL REMOTE, OR THE ORIGINAL.
ALSO: YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET ANY RECEPTION(HD OR ANY), UNLESS YOU HAVE RABBIT EARS OR ANTENNA ON A ROOF.

1. Hold down the TV/Tuner Button. 2. Whilst holding down the TV/Tuner Button, enter the four character numeric device code. 3. Press any other button on the remote. NB: If the remote was sold to you under the guise of being " the correct remote control for that model," then simply remove the battery cover and you will see that the correct code for your device has been helpfully printed there. If you do not know the code for your particular device, these can be found on numerous websites, or in your TV manual.
