It is a system problem. There is only really one way to fix this.

You'll need to start your mac up from the original OS install disk.

You can then use the disk utility to see if the OS can be fixed or you might need to re-install the OS. Once you have started up from the install disk you might be able to see your drive. At this stage if you have not already done so you should back up those important files.

I own a ibook G4 1.42 ghz and the battery no longer seems to charge when plugged in. I recently purchased a nupower battery and it worked great. Should I try an external charger?

I'd try another AC adapter first. It's not unknown for them to go bad and no longer deliver the power necessary to charge the battery. It's really unlikely for the charge circuitry internal to the iBook to go bad.

This means the system software installed is incomplete. You may simply reinstall MacOS 9 (or MacOS X up to 10.3 for non FireWire clamshells, and 10.4 for the SE models).

IBook Blueberry connectivity problem

I believe that your problem is related to the OS 9.2 you are using, it has quite a few problems, I recommend you upgrade to a newer version, maybe OSX 10.3 or 10.4

What you could do is that you could look around online like on ebay or on a great site called . That is a great site and they have a lot of great parts for both mac laptops and iPods/iPhones.
