Buttons not working at all. will print but have to unplug and plug in to turn it on

No power light and buttons not working. I can print from the computer. I can insert a memory stick and it sees it. I can import the photos from the memory stick to the computer (through the printer).
I have to unplug it to turn it off.
I have tried a reset (plug it in while holding the cancel and left arrow buttons) and that did not work. I downloaded the firmware update from HP but after running a while it says that their is no eligible device to update. If I run the installer with the printer off it pops up the same message right away.
I can't think of anything else to try.

exact same problem except for me i cant print at all, but it shows the loading bar on the little lcd screen when i plug it in and then it freezes (with no buttons or lights) at "hp invent"

does anyone know where the firmware update is? i only find patches for advertisement pages for hp that are built into the software they provide.

Have HP PSC 2355 and receive error 0xb900005 what does this mean?

It means there is an interal error and the printer has to be reset.

The best solution is to unistall the printer and then reinstall.
1.Unplug the printer from the computer not the cord just the cable.
2. Do the unistalling process. Whhen done do the following to the printer before connectiong back the printer.
Take out the cartridge then wait for the message Insert ink to display and unplug the cord. Wait 60 seconds.
Plug in the cord and when the printer restarted insert the cartridge.
Close the cover. If promted to print a calibration page report printed it.
Reconnect the cable.
Your printer should be running good now.

When I plug in the printer, the screen lights up, the "on" button and the "cancel" buttons light momentarily but nothing happens. The screen stays lit and pushing the on-off does nothing. It will not...

Try this: first disconnect the power cord from the Printer, then disconnect the USB cable, then unplug the printer power cord from the wall. Wait 10 minutes and plug everything back in In Reverse Order. See if that does it. I had a similar problem with my PSC 1610v and that is what HP had me do and it worked for me.

I am getting an error message ox841fc379 when I turn on the printer. Please advise

Your HP PSC 2355 may need to be reset:

1) Disconnect the USB cable from your computer
2) Remove the ink cartridges
3) Unplug the power cord. Wait for at least 1 minute. Plug the unit back in (press the power button if necessary)
4) Wait for the "Insert Cartridges" message. Reinstall the cartridges
5) Close the product doors
6) If you receive a recalibration message, allow the printer to complete this task
7) Reconnect the USB cable
8) Try your print job again

If problems still exist, your product may need servicing by an authorised HP technician.

Wont print error message 165:hw_interrupt_hwv2.c also 0xb9000001

The error is indicative of a hardware error.
Remove the power cord, hold # + 6 (semi-full reset) or # + 9 (full reset) buttons, then connect the power cord again, wait 3 secs (or until "Initializing Full Reset" appears on the printer display) and release the buttons.
This will set the printer configurations to its factory defaults.
Reset: Press the * and # buttons (simultaneously), followed by 1 , 2 , and then 3
Underware menu: Press the * and # buttons (simultaneously), followed by 1 , 2 , and then 4
Clear and reset NVM RAM: Press and hold OK and Cancel while plugging in the power cord.
If none of those work, it will need to be returned to HP as a failed unit.
