Saeco Vienna won't start

I have recently had my Saeco Vienna serviced. When I got it home I noticed that they did not fix the problem with the digital readout. Therefore I cannot reprogram it or change the program.
A few days ago, my machine was in "rinsing mode" preparing to make coffee. For the first time ever, I took the water reservoir out to fill it during this process. At that time the "rinsing process" halted, but did not continue once I placed the water reservoir back. I have tried many times to get it to finish rinsing, including unplugging it, turning machine off, waiting overnight to turn on again. but I can't make out what the digital readout is, so I can't follow the instructions the machine might be giving me. It only looks like jibberish, and it will not go past the initial start up sound just before it rinses. I was hoping someone might be able to walk me through a process, or at least tell me what I've done.

I have found that "Eddie" at the Saeco dealer at 7905 Cochran Road, suite 100, Glenwillow OH 44139 with telephone of 440-528-2000 or Fax at 440-542-9173 can fix or answer most everything and he has the repair parts if needed. He can provide a parts diagram to help you too but it is in Italian. Be careful though, he likes to "chin" on the phone because he wants to help..He has solved a number of my problems with my neat Saeco Vienna Deluxe that has kept it running and out of the shop..Hope this helps. Tell Eddie that George sent you.

SOURCE: Saeco Vienna leaking

We had this problem and it was overflow from a clog -- check the hole where excess water drains into the drip tray to see if it is full of grounds. Cleaned it out with a twistie tie and flushed w/ water. That stopped the water on our counter!

SOURCE: Problem getting a Full Cup of Coffee

besides descaling you need to lube the brew group, especially the bit that accepts the group nozzle. You might have a leaking boiler too, 6 years is pretty good for a vienna.

Remove the brew group and look for the two red o-rings on teh brass bit, smear some lube on it, they might need replacing by now, but luckily they aren't too expensive and readily available albeit a bit tricky to install, a good light and some patience is very important.

Hi,

You have to replace the "water turbine" in the machine, it´s like a water counter.

Saeco Vienna digital coffee maker sup 018d after starting display group blocked but on hand this work

The machine's brew unit motor is not working correctly and needs service. A wire may be broken, motor can be burnt, or the power board is not sending enough power to the motor.

Best to bring it to a service center.

Saeco Vienna Deluxe -- Coffee weak weak weak

When the coffee is weak, that is often because the water is not at adequate temperature.

Check if the coffee is in right quantity and pressed in the right way. If it is than it means that the water was not hot enough.

Check water temperature, if water is completely cold, the element mus be replaced, if water is hot, but not enough, then replace thermostate activating the pump.

Brew light blinking

It is telling you that the temp on the machine is too low. It is possible that one of the thermostats on the boiler is damaged.

Saeco Vienna Deluxe odd burning smell

gears are probably broke. Happens when to much coffee and coffee ground too fine get compacted into the brew drive unit.

Shreds the plastic gears like butter.

Machine has to be sent out for service, gear replacement is long and impossible for anyone untrained. Trained techs it takes at least an hour if not more.

Saeco Vienna Digital Expresso Maker - brew group will not line up to fit back into espresso machine

Could be a number of reasons. If you "hear" the brew group moving in one direction, stop and then move again, then the microswitches are o.k. If the sound of the movement is low and/or slow ( slower that normal), the CPU/power board may be bad and needs to be replace. If the movement is as before (same sound and movement) but not lining up, perhaps the brew drive motor is bad.
To remedy this situation, an authorized SAECO Service Center would have to open your machine and replace damaged components. Contact Saeco USA Inc. to located a Service Center near you at 800-933-7876 (toll-free), ask for customer support, or contact SAECO via e-mail at : [email protected]

Saeco Vienna Digital

I had this problem on my Saeco Vienna Digital a while back. I read somewhere just to keep on ventilating, even if it took 20 hoppers of water. Sure enough after about 16 cycles, I heard a change in the noise and looked to see the ventilate sign was gone.
