Dishwasher fuse LG LDS5811

Hi Ginko, I found the fuse, but it seems to be glued in. How do you remove it? I don't see that in the manual.

You need to test the fuse for continuity using a multimeter tester, if the multimeter returns infinite impedance then fuse is blown and must be replaced, the fuse is not normally glued, but after a short some contact may have melt down and now fuse is soldered. If this is the case, fuse must be unsoldered and replaced.
See if you can publish here a picture of fuse.

You have a water fill problem.
Make sure the water supply is turned on.
Could be a bad water valve, bad wire bad timer, etc.

Copy and paste this Factory Service manual to help in diagnosis.
http://136.166.4.200/contents/Dishwasher/LDS5811/LDS5811_Service_Manual.pdf

It may not be specific to your model number, you did not post a model number.
It should help generically.

My dishwasher is showing LE on the display and will run but doesn't seem to be cleaning the dishes. Any solutions?

Hi there,

Well LE means locked motor, this seems to be a very common problem withe these dishwashers.

Possible Cause For Error Occurrence:
Wiring connection is OK?
The Impeller of Washing Pump is locked.
The rotor of Washing Motor is locked.
The Blade is locked.

Anyway the LE error code is not all-ways indicative of a motor problem. There are also strong chances of any lose connection (wire), so first you can simply unscrew the front door panel from the retaining screws on the inside of the perimeter of the door. Once the screws are removed pull down and out to remove the door panel. Remove the sound insulating material and you will see several wires routed from the contol panel the length of the door to underneath the unit. Inspect the wires thoroughly. Near the bottom is where the pinching can take place. There are two gray wires and if you have been getting the "LE" error code, one of those wires is most likely broken or pinched. Splice, reconnect, solder or tape.......

Heater not working in cycle. No Error Code present

The LG 5811 dishwasher would display the error "tE" if the thermistor has failed. Not seeing an error could mean that the controller card (PCB) has failed. Hard to tell if the heating element has failed or wiring has shorted.
To look a little further, you can see (but not remove) the heating element by removing the filter in the sump area beneath the bottom rack. Disconnect dishwasher from power first and inspect for obvious failure of element.
Gaining access to the heating element is very complicated on the LG units. You have to drop the entire sump unit after turning the dishwasher over on its top.
Recommend a service call.

Try checking the wiring in the door for breaks and repair by cutting and splicing with electrical tape. This site has the Service Manual: http://136.166.4.200/contents/Dishwasher/LDS5811/LDS5811_Service_Manual.pdf

Dishwasher

If you have confirmed power to dishwasher, you are pobably looking at a control board. I have only run into this one time on a LDS5811 so far. Parts on LG dishwashers have a two year warranty. You have to dissassemble the door to replace the part.

LG LDS5811BB Dishwasher

Some of the LG LDS5811 had problems with the wiring harness in the door panel. This is nothing to mess with unless you have disconnected the DW from power.
You can open the door panel by removing the screws around the inside edge of the DW. Or, better yet, firmly but politely contact LG service and tell them you are aware of LDS5811 dishwashers having these symptoms being caused by _melting_ wires in inside the door panel. This is true and even if the DW is out of warranty, LG should fix this problem at no cost to you.
Good Luck!
