After you get your value into the formula field, highlight that field, right click, copy, then "paste special", you should see an icon with numbers eg: 123, press enter.

What formulas contain both a rational number and an irrational number

The best known irrational number is Pi, so, any formula with that in it it, like the formula for

circumference of a circle - Pi * D
area of a circle - Pi * R^2
volume of a sphere - 4/3 * Pi * R^3

Here D and R should be rational numbers, eg integers, to meet your definition.

Find 3 squares that add to 365 to show that 365 is a special number

[3, 10, 16], [4, 5, 18], [5, 12, 14], and [10, 11, 12] all work. Of course, there are an infinite number of numbers that are the sum of three squares.

How many people must be in a room before the probability that some share a birthday becomes at least 50 percent? Use different values of n in the formula and approximate to the nearest n. show all work.

With two people in the room, the probability that the second person shares a birthday with the first is 1/365 (let's ignore leap years for the time being). Thus, the probability that they DON'T share a birthday is 364/365.

Add a third person. The probability that this person does not share a birthday with either of the first two (assuming they don't share a birthday) is 363/365. Thus, the probability that none of the three share a birthday is (364/365)*(363/365).

The probability that a fourth person doesn't share a birthday with any of the first three is 362/365. Thus the probability that none of the four share a birthday is (364/365)*(363/365)*(362/365).

See the pattern here? The probability of the n-th person not sharing a birthday is (366-n)/365. Keep adding people and multiplying the terms together until the probability of no one sharing a birthday drops below 0.5 --- which is when the probability of at least one pair sharing a birthday climbs above 50%.

Since this sounds like a homework problem, you'll have to do the rest.

When I turn on my tv it may at times have a white screen-then it goes dark and eventually the picture will come back, its been happening more and more lately.

The lamp only has a life span of about 8000 hours if you are past that then it maybe time to replace. If you average out 6 to 8 hours a day X 365 x years you will get the average hours used, not sure how old you set is but the formula works.

Data validation in excel

instead of validation use conditional formating (under format menu). If c1<1 format cell as red. It does not have the attention getter that validation does not require the active cell event. Every other option requires the cell become active for a test.

Excel argument

If I understand correctly, you want to figure the normal wages at 40 hours and less. If there is more then 40 hours, calculate the normal 40 hours, then calculate the hours overtime (time and a half) and add them to get a total.

B5 columns are filled with this:

NOTE: The $ sign doesn't refer to money, it refers to an absolute reference so when copying a formula, the cell references with a $ sign are fixed and don't adjust according to the relative position to where it's being pasted.

Please rate as FixYa! or ask please clarify. ThankYa!
