My RCA JET S2002 MP3 Player is not reconised by Windows XP Pro. Worked once but the next day it gave me errors. I cannot download drivers because the device is not "plugged in" according to my PC. It will cahrge though so I dont think this is a problem with the cord or port. Tried Power cycle, multiple ports, reset. Still will not read the device.

Many people sow the Nextar T30 as not being shown on their PC just as mine did. I found that, the USB port on the T30 is very very tight and even when you have the mini USB in enough to charge the device it doesnt always read it. You have to push the plug in until it snaps in place. You will see no metal on the mini USB plag showing at all once it is in all the way.

I first put the CD in that came with it, then I opened it and found the folder with the firmware update program and clicked on it to install because it also has the drivers. Once that was done I restarted my PC and then connected the USB plug in all the way until it snapped in place (be carefull could break it as it is too tight really). And now my player works every single time all of the time.

Hope this solves your problem like it did mine.

I need the driver software

According to the Nextar website, the drivers in Windows 2000 and greater are in the OS and no drivers are necessary. Once you plug it in, the computer should see it as a storage device. You can then go into Windows Media Player and setup a synch with the device.

Nextar will not connect to computer

What operating system are you running?

Did you run the cd included with the device?

Did you click the bubble that popped up when you plugged in the device? If this appears, it can walk you through the device install process.

I have a 1GB Nextar MP3 player that's only been used a few times. I loaded the driver in my computer. When I plug the device into to USB port, it says unknown device and I can't load any songs from my...

You need to install it as a usb mass storage device. by doing this just plug it in, and when it comes up at unknown device. right click on 'my computer' then select 'manage' this will open up the computer management window. Click on the 'Device manger' you will then look for your nextar mp3 player device, it will be marked as audio device with a yellew question mark by it, just right click that icon, select properties -> select the driver tab-> click on the update driver -> select the 'yes, now and everytime I connect a device' radio button. click next. select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)' radio button. select next, on the next screen, select 'Dont search. i will choose the driver to install' button. Click next, you will see a list of devices on this screen, you are going to select 'USB Mass Storage Device" then select next. At this point you will see the drivers being installed. After that you will be able to use your Nextar MP3. Just click and drag your mp3 from your pc to your nextar.

I hope this helped.
