Do you have a friend or neighbor with internet connection? if so, then ask them to go to the IBM site and download the driver to a flash drive or a CD. you will be able to install it from either device. you may need your model number and serial number to get the right driver.
if your local library allows downloads, then you can search IBM yourself and load it to a Flash drive.

My ibm think pad 390x 2626 lou notebook has an ethernet installed but when i search for installed hardware it says no ethernet found but yet the jack is installed but not found

Well, Maybe your driver is not installed. With windows XP

1. Right click "my computer"

2. click properties

3. click hardware

4 click device manager.

see if there are any big yellow question marks, if so you need to load drivers.

IBM390X I cant get internet through phone line so i bought router and wireless usb router but usb port needs to be upgraded to 2.0 is there another way?

In my knowledge, USB 1.0 is also supported in all USB 2.0 deviecs. Yah, it will perform slower but will work in USB 1.0 also.

My Ibm thinkpad 390x cannot connect to the internet. I have tried ethernet connection to my liveboox (router) but did not work. I tried using Belkin wireless connection=No result What can I do? I guess it...

Since you were not able to access the internet with your thinkpad wired directly to the livebox router, your internet service provider may be the problem, however, before you call them, do what they would have you do anyway:
  1. Power off everything, the livebox and the computer and leave them both off for 10 to 30 seconds.
  2. Turn on the livebox and let it completely cycle up until the lights stabilize.
  3. Turn on your thinkpad and let it completely finish the boot process.
  4. Check that the wired connection to the thinkpad gives you access to the Internet.
    1. If not, you'll want to call your Internet Service Provider before proceeding.
  5. Check your wireless connection to see if it is now working.
    1. If not, check to make sure you are using the correct SSID (the name that shows up in the "list" of available Wi-Fi connections), and that it says connected and secured.
    2. If you have a secure connection to the correct SSID and still cannot reach the Internet via Wi-Fi then something else is wrong. For example, your thinkpad may have been infected with malware that is affecting your thinkpad's ability to connect to web pages.

My borther has a 390x ibm thinkpad 2626 and he is looking for a upgraded processor

Current processor should be a Pentium III 450 MHz.
As far as I know, the standard RAM os 64 MB and maximum RAM is 512 MB. Even a memory upgrade will cost you around 80$.

I would honestly suggest to forget a processor upgrade because it will cost you a lot of money. Probably more than a new laptop.
Sorry...
