Please help me!! My EnV wont charge anymore!! Well when it first started I would move it a little bit an it would do just fine but it has gotten a lot worse. I started to tape the charger in place and if I move it just a teeny tiny bit it will stop charging! Now I can get it to charge if i hold it but then it only charges for like 2 minutes even if i don't move it! Will I have to get a new one or can I fix it myself???
Same thing happened with my friend, its a minor bug in the env, call 18009220204 (customer service) and tell them your problem, they should be more than happy to help you. they gave her a brand new phone free of charge. hope this helpeddddd;)

Your phone is charging just fine. It's the battery that is to blame.
Purchase a new battery from your choice of local vendors and the problem will be solved.
Also, try not to charge it (With the new battery) until the charge is low. This will help prolong battery life.
There is no way to fix this yourself unless you are handy with a soldering iron. The power jack that you plug the cord into has come loose off of the phone's mainboard. The only way to fix this (assuming you don't know how to use a soldering iron) is to take it to a phone dealer for repair.
i have the same problem with my enV my friend stripped the wires to my charger at the part where you plug it into the phone so now to charge my phone i tape the red wire to the positive on the battery and the black wire to the negitive there will be a shiny metal goldish color thing (there like 4 lil gold bars) on your battery that looks like this --> (negative) | | | | (positive) | - | | | + | tape the wires on the outside were the symbols are - and + and try not to let it toch the middle bars on the battery or it wont work and dont cover the little bars up with tape put the battery back in the phone making sure the wires dont move to much and it should charge sometimes you got tape the battery onto the phone to make sure it doesnt pop out but its what i do and it saves you money on having to go buy a whole new one or if you know someone with the same phone give them your battery to charge it :)
MOST LIKELY YOU WILL GET MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS PHONE IN THE FUTURE WHAT CAN HELP SOME IS IF YOU OPEN UP THE PHONE AND USE A TOOTHBRUSH TO CLEAN OFF THE CHARGING AREA FROM THE OUTSIDE FIRST THEN GO TO THE INSIDE, I WOULD RUB DOWN EVERY PART I COULD, IT MOST LIKELY WILL HELP FOR NOW BUT I WOULDNT TRUST THE PHONE, WATER DAMAGE CAUSES THE PHONE TO CORRODE SLOWLY.
You said the new battery worked but wont charge in the phone. You had water damage to the phone before getting the new battery correct?
First remove any Mini S/D card in the phone, power it off and remove the battery. ( only do this if its out of warranty and nothing else works. ) Your need to take the phone apart and get some alcohol wipes and wipe down the circuit board and connectors and anything that may have had water on it, if you see any crude, try to rub it off, there may be water and crude built up on contacts from the water damage that may be shorting the phone. Also check the battery contacts for greas or crud on the contacts. Once you have wiped down everything the alcohole should evaporate and take any moisture with it. Leave it out for a day dis assembled so it can air dry completely.
Put phone back together and hook up the charger and see if it charges. wait to put the memory card back in as in case you screwed anything up, you dont want it to take out your memory card with it.
I have performed this task with many of my friends cell phone that have gone through washing machines or got moisture in it because they take there phones into a steamy shower and moisture ends up shorting it out.
If nothing else works and you want to try it, go for it.
remember theres 6 screws in back and 4 around the mainscreen that are covered with triangular sticky covers, then use a thin knife or something to pry from one of the corners, one it gets started you just have to pop it apart with your fingers. Everything snaps back together easily.
Be carefull on the side with the screens, you dont wanto to pop apart the front screen from the mainscreen as its a pain to keep together when putting it back, also dont get any dust or fingerprints on the screen as they will drive you nuts if you put it all back together and theres a greasy fingerprint under the plastic that protects the screen.
iT'S little cheesy but hey for $10 and free shipping I can eat a lot of cheese.
Just plug your battery into this little clugy thing, plug the thing into the wall, wait until battery is charged and then put your battery back into your phone...presto...for this kind of money who cares if the VX9900 has a dead battery charge port.
I bought two, they were on sale for $7 each. It's ugly and takes a bit of patience but it works.
