This is very difficult to do and most electronics service centers will even recommend sending the unit to Pioneer. You'll not only have to remove the outer case from the hide away unit, but you'll need to take out the main circuit board as well. You may also be able to find someone selling just the hide away unit on ebay too.

Ripspeed 720 won't work properly.

it sounds like the dvd is stuck in the drive if this is so than just take another cd and stick it in about halfway and also press the eject button and the cd will come out. its kinda like digging the dvd thats stuck in the drive out. after that i would reset the system. and if that doesnt work than it has to do with the hardware my guess would be that one of the gears inside the deck is off track. the simplest way to fix this but also might woresn the problem is to use force against watever the deck is trying to do. so if the screeen is trying to open than u gently force it not to open. if your not comfortable with that than i would recommend u send the deck in to a specialist.

Kenwood kvt817 dvd player says

Same thing happened to me on 1 that I installed. There is a long molex cable on back of the head unit that goes to a tunr/amplifiwe usually mounted under the seat. This is the ontroll brain. It is either non existant, or you need to plug it back in behind the stereo. Mine was the same way, mounted in a Ford Escape, it somehow vibrated out! Go figure. Hopefully this silves it. Let me know.

No power?

Do you have the complete N2 system. It is consist of the indash unit and the brain(hide-away unit) plus a numbers of cables(data, gps antenna and many others). If you only have the deck alone and the power harness then you only have less than half of the system. Let me know if you need the rest. Goodluck

Avic d1 head unit causes alternator wine

Did you try his in your vehicle? With all of your wiring and plug? Usually noise is caused by a faulty ground. If his worked with your wiring then the problem is probably a bad ground in your unit. Someone should open the unit and check for bad solder connections.

No control unit necessary????

All flip out units need a hide away brain to work. You can probably find one on Ebay. Just make sure all needed wires and cables are included. And hope that unit you acquired is in working condition. Goodluck.

You do have both parts of this unit? The Display unit and the (brain) Hide away unit. If so try resetting the unit. it is located behind a tiny hole on the face plate. Just above the right knob.
