The memory card can stay in 24/7, mine does because the internal phone memory is only 16 mb ,-not many songs, but the card can hold much more.

I have an LG XENON phone and cona;t get ringtones

I have the same phone. What i do is go to mytinyphone.com on my phone or my computer and it gives me free ringtones i have 2 ringtones and one song from that website. If you do it from your phone all you have to do after you select a song is press click here to play and it automatically starts downloading but for it to be a ringtone it has to be less than 300kb. hope this helps. message me back if it does ^^

Simple solution, Alltel belives and enforces digital copyright management, while you can listen to your favorite tones and music, you will NOT be able to use them as ringtones, or use them with any of the features of the phone other then playing the tunes for entertainment. The only way to use files as ringtones is to purchase the files from alltel, or use their realtone jukebox, etc.

Sorry about the news , but welcome to ALLTEL!

I have a LG UX260 and i also have the 1GB micro sd card and I put it in, but the option to make the songs my ringtone did not come up. How do I do this and transfer the music so I can take the card out.

All music should go to My Audio, not My music if you want to use it as ringtones. You have to go into menu-->audios-->my audios-->options-->move/copy (option 6)-->select MOVE

have the newest version of bitpim
make sure you have the drivers for the USB cable you are using.
open bitpim
let it find the phone(it will come up as other CDMA phone)
click FILESYSTEM on the left at the bottom
expand the folder
click dload
right click on lg_mysound.dat and save it to your desktop
after you save it right click lg_mysound.dat in bitpim and delete it
now click brew
click media
click lk
click ms

now drop the songs you want to use as ringers in this file. they will automaticlly load into your phone. it isnt the fastest process but it works.

after they are done loading onto the phone, unhook USB cable from computer, power the phone off and then back on.

the items you just transferred with now be in the my audio file where they need to be to assign them for individual ringers.

NOTE:

everytime you wnat to add new ringers to the phone you have to complete all the steps above, even the deleting that one certain file. not a very hard process and has worked well for me.

good luck and happy mp3 loading songs into the phone as ringers.
