If by chance teh light is on the end of a long DMX cable run, read about putting a terminating resistor at the end of the chain. You say you are having "trouble"... that doesn't tell us anything that we could help you with.

I have an Elation FC400 DMX foot controller and an Eliminator ED15 Dimmer pack (8 plug ins). Cannot get controller to do anything when Dimmer Pack set to Slave mode, Dimmer pack works fine on Programs...

In slave mode the second pack should be controlled by the first pack in the chain, not the foot controller. I think you probably don't want to be using slave mode if you are using external controller... try setting the packs to the same address so they both track the foot controller.

I have an American DJ Hyper Gem LED light and have used it at 4-5 dances...its okay in small halls, but I have a friend that also bought one and his is super bright and throws the effect far, mine does...

Uncover it... you will probably find that some of the LED's are not lighting. OFTEN soldering on circuit boards OR a bad LED in a string kills several like Christmas strings. More than this you need to be somewaht adept at electronics to repair it.

When unit is turned on, all lights turn on, even with DMX cable unplugged. All 'Monitor' LED's, 'Power Indicator' and 'DMX Indicator' are on, regardless of 'Switch pack' settings.

The Triacs in the unit probably have shorted. They use a 16 amp Triac in most of these. If none of the stand alone funtions work, this is the likely cause.

Parts for american dj tri phase no sound attvation mic is fine

Usual problem is unit hasn't been put into sound activation mode. Make sure the display says:

"SOUn" and select the "on" in that mode.

When i turn on the brand new double derby it works for 2 seconds and then goes off, what could this be and how do i fix it please Lily

It is probably in the wrong mode. Since the light can be set for automatic, sound, and DMX we have NO idea what mode you are trying to run. Refer to page 8 and 9 in your manual for correct dipswitch setting for whatever mode you are running.

For eye protection, the lights must keep moving or they will shut down... which is likely what is happening in your case. If you put in auto mode or sound mode they should keep on. If in DMX mode and the mode does not command movement all the time, they will extinguish.

How do i link more than one together?

Send power to all and link them all with a daisy chain of DMX cables output to input. Set all to the same DMX address on the switches. Use DMX cable to your controller. If you don't have a controller, set the first one as master to an auto mode or sound trigger.

No output from any channel. DMX and channel data lights show OK. Fuses OK.

The Triacs are probably blown. If you overloaded this OR tried to drive lights that were NOT incandescent or used transformers this will destroy the Triacs.

Channel sliders will not bring up lights but the flash buttons do work. Only way to get all the lights on at once is to push the Full-on button.

Verify that you have a terminator resistor at the end of your DMX cable of there are several units daisy-chained. The resistor prevents digital signals from reflecting causing confusion of the data stream. Read up on DMX termination via google.
