Probably burned convergence IC or capacitor, go to a local repair shop and ask fee, I am afraid it will be over $100

Well if it is a capacitor or an onboard component you need a technician
to do the job usually you get this job done for a couple of hundreds
dollars, if the technician must replace both convergence ICs, for
example the charge is $250/$300. If you call a repair shop in your area
and describe the problem they will give you the exact amount.

My samsung tv ps50b430p2wxxu screen is having problems. when i turn it on its very bright for a few minutes and then comes rite but then after watching for a while it might get very bright again. picture...

sounds like a power supply problem or something that affects brightness is drawing too much current--not a do it yourself fix and price a repair estimate to see if worth fixing or not.

Some of the Samsung sets did have a issue known where the picture flickers with scene changes etc.

That is on the power board and in some cases a jumper on that board needs to be removed-----design flaw well known.

I have a problem with my t.v when we watch it for more than 10-20 minutes the picture shrinks down from the top and the bottom and forms a line in the middle of the t.v where you can't see anything but...

Hello,

First you need to check if the back of the television has a good vent, if not heat might melt up a lead from a capacitor causing a bridge in the unit, there by resulting in what you are experiencing on the television.

Once the back vent is receiving air, then you need to have the television unplugged for about an hour or two, then you carefully assess the lamp of the television, then the main panel for any melted lead that might be bridging two or more capacitors together, then correct it by melting off the bridge using a soldering iron.

After doing that, your television should be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

Lower 1/3 tv black till it warms up

There are bad capacitors in the vertical output circuit in this unit. The values of these caps are on the side of the capacitors. You may want to have a shop check it out for you. Thanks for using fixya.

LG LCD Tv has sound but no picture only colour vertical lines. Can be fixed?

If your screen has a picture in the left corner with a small square with lines on it but still has sound...try this....

unplug your TV itself from the power source, then hold down the power button on the tv itself for 1 minute, then release.... Plug the tv back in and see if the issue is resolved. I just called LG customer support and a woman walked me through this process and it fixed the issue !!!! Hope this helps..

The Rca itc222 chasis ia a problem child/ i see them all the time here at the shop. You have encountered a microprocessor saftey shutdown. THe processor has detected a problem with on of about 30 different conditions that will shut the unit down. The top reasons are the high voltage cuirits. the horizontal output transistor, flyback or even one of the projection tubes.. YOu can incur from the green light that it is NOT a Main fuse problem. TO RESet this set you have done what a tech wound do shut it down for an hour then plug it up. Technicians have special computer interface equipment that they use...much like a car computer to read errors from the processor. The main question is it worth to fix... something like this runs 300 to 500 to fix... The set is 800 new at your local walmart. if the unit is under warrenty ...get it fix ..if not THink about it

White horizontal lines at top of picture

Yes, definitely worth fixing. The problem lies in the vertical deflection voltage-doubler circuit. The usual fault is a single capacitor of 100uF/35V that has failed. It is normally connected to a rectifier diode right at the vertical IC. Replacing the capacitor (no more than USD4.00 in price) usually gets it working perfectly again. If you are finicky around technical work, then a reputable local repair shop in your locality should do it quickly for you and charge only labour.

VHS problem, any help?

It sounds to me like you have a problem with the reel sensors not detecting movement of the tape through the VCR. This could also be caused by a defective voltage regulator(s) that powers the sensors. This model was made by symphonic/funai (1-800-242-7158), and it is not likely worth repairing.
