Question about RCA HD50LPW175 50" HDTV

1 Answer

No Picture I have 2 of these TVs and have chanded the lamps so I know I do not have a lamp problem because when I swap the lamps out the one that works still works and the one that does not will not come on. When I first turn the TV on the power light and volume and channel lights come on and I get sound but within a few seconds the lights start flashing and go on and off a few times and finally shuts completely off

The lights flash 5 times and I get sound for just a few seconds. It does this several times. Then the lights go out and do not come back on. I never get a picure. When the power light flashes I hear a click as if it is trying to come on but never does.

My Mitsubishi tv WD 73734 won't show a picture you can hear sound and it powers on and off lamp light red and timer lighter blinking

No TVs will behave that way due to a timer. TVs only will display a nag screen telling you to reset the timer. If your lamp is more than 2 years old, it is suspect of failure. Be sure you buy a lamp with an Osram brand or Philips brand bulb inside. Any compatible(knockoff)lamps will not perform as they should. Mitsubishi DLP TV Bulbs
These folks sell original Osram bulbs in their lamps and they have a 6 month warranty. I use them myself for repairs and really have had great experiences with them.

How to change bulbs in a safescan 65

read your owner manual section troubleshooting or how to replace it.
God bless you
Rear-Projection TVs have a lamp, which picks up the picture and projects it on the TV screen. A burned-out or connected lamps are two of the most common problems for Rear-Projection TVs. First, you will want to confirm the bulb is still good. If the bulb is bad then then replace it immediately. Second consult your user manual and verify the lamp and lamp cover are installed properly. Most Rear-Projection TVs have warning light which notify you when there are lamp problems. Again consult the user's manual to see what each light means.

Screen keeps going black

It is possible but the only way to know is to try that.

Lamps have about a 2000 hour life span which works out to about 2 years for the average user.

Usually in this model just before the lamp fails the picture either comes on somewhat darker than usual or gets dark just before the picture goes out.

The set will detect lamp is not bright enough etc and blank the screen.

The lamp light (I have seen this) sometimes will not come on even if the lamp has a total failure----no picture at all.

You might also check with a local shop or someone with the same model so you can swap lamps to see what the problem is.

Let me know what happens.

The picture is not bright in a light-filled room. Will a change of DLP lamp help? Are there different lamps that will improve picture quality?

Yes.Depend how old is ur DLP tv,the Projection Lamp only a light source, mostly depended on the Light projection Engine itself.Get the original RCA DLP lamp or same lamp model now inside the tv,will help and work best for ur tv.Just don't get generic DLP tvs lamp,it cheaper poorer quality.

Tv brightness/vibrant

Most of the projection lamps are recommended to be replaced after 2 years. The older they get the more dim they will become. I would suggest replacing the lamp again. Some of the aftermarket lamps do not work as well as the factory replacement. I always spend the extra money and get one from Samsung.

No Picture - Lamp Indicator Blinking

This may be the main power supply, or the lamp supply. This is providing that the new lamp is okay.

The service tech will swap out the modules to service the set.
