Hi
Your 3 way valve is dirty or bad. Have you ever done a back flush with a detergent?
About every 3 months it is a good idea to do a backflush your machine with a blind filter basket. When backflusing you should only use a good espresso machine cleaner designed for an espresso machine's brew system. DO NOT USE a decalcification cleaner. First, clean the screen and dispersion plate plus the brew head and reassemble, which will prepare you for backflusing. Then, insert the blind filter basket into the portafilter with a ½ teaspoon of cleaner in the basket. Next, place the portafilter into the brew head and tighten. When the machine is hot turn on the brew button for about 10 seconds and then turn off. Then, wait 30 seconds to a minute. Next, turn the brew button on again this time for only about 3 to 5 seconds and then turn off. Wait 30 seconds to a minute. Repeat these last two steps six to eight times. After you have completed the backflushing remove your portafilter and rinse the blind basket with fresh water. Next, you turn on the brew switch to rinse the plumbing. Then, reinsert the portafilter into brew head and turn on the brew button for about 10 seconds and then turn off. Next, turn on the brew button for approximately 3 to 5 seconds and then turn off. Repeat about 4 to 5 times. Always remember backflushing is hard on electric 3 way solenoid valves, so it is not recommended do this no more than four times a year for a machine used in home application. You will find more good is done to your machine be properly cleaning the brew head.

Water shoots out of steam valve and can't make espresso

Samantha,

The steam function and the expresso use the same elements to create the steam but the valves will direct the steam to the expresso unit or the steam arm. Most likely you have a faulty valve. In most cases the valve will not open until the pressure gets to the right level. If you are just getting hot water out of the steam arm instead of steam via the expresso unit it most likely means that the valve is faulty. The valves can be replaced but is not easy. You will need to have the unit serviced or you could try to replace the valves. Make sure the flow meter is working before you replace the valves. You can check the operation of the flow meter by running the hot water cycle and making sure that you get the right amount of hot water. Good luck!

My machine wont give me much water into the brewgroup tried another brewgroup and it is the same . Iyt takes about a minute to put thru one shot of coffee and we only get about 10mm of expresso in the cup...

Hi
If you push the scoop but don't put any coffee in the brew group, what happens? If it brews right (water comes out), then I would suspect that your coffee is too fine. Push the lever below the grinder on the right to the back (#7) and then try to brew again. Don't let it go all the way. Push the coffee button as soon as it starts to brew. Do this 3 times. The 4th time let it go and see if it will brew. If it doesn't I would need more information.

Machine leaking water from service door behind where the pucks collect. water pools/collects into the excess ground coffee tray. any suggestions?

Hi
Trying to understand what you are talking about, but if you have water in the top left side of the brew unit, its your thumb screw. If you have water under the brew unit Its the drain for the pressure release. remove the brew unit. The injector behind the brew unit on the machine has a drain and it can get clogged with coffee residue. If there is water below the injsctor the drain hole is inside and towards the front of the machine. A long zip tie inserted in the drain aimed down towards the front will usually find the drain hole and clear it, then take some hot sudsy water and flush the drain.
If its the thumb screw you will ahve to get a new one but be sure to remove the extra nut on the filter screen shaft before installing the new one.

Drip tray is filling up with water sooner than in

Hi
Either your grind is very coarse or your injector seal is bad. The injector is behind the brew unit and has 2 orange O-rings on it. See if you can wiggle the injector?

When I try to make espresso with my new XP2070, water comes out through the steam arm and not through the nozzles. I've tried it without coffee and all the water still comes out through the steam/hot water...

David, the XP2070 won't operate properly until you've set the clock on the unit.

In case you don't have an owner's manual, I've attached a copy of the manual from the Krups site that you can download and print for free.

Please take some time to reaquaint yourself with the setup and procedure for using the expresso portion of the unit, as you might just have some sequence issues that is preventing the expresso from getting brewed.

Otherwise, it could be that the unit has a faulty seal in the pressure vessel that isn't allowing the expresso side to function properly, hence the reason the water might be coming out of the frothing tube instead of through the expresso brewing section.

Expresso comes out warm not hot what is problem

The magic delux has only one boiler so if you are getting hot water and steam, then it could be that the cup used to brew into is taking the heat from your espresso, trly warming up the cup before brewing into.

Isomac expresso machine

We have owned an Isomac Millenium for ~2y.

In the first months, we encountered low water to the brew head, although both the steam and hot water wands had decent pressure and flows.

Adjusting our grind, so that the coffee beans were coarser helped immensely--for awhile.

Then the problem gradually reappeared as an extremely slow brew time. Our machine was still relatively new, so we shipped it back to our place of purchase. It came back working just great and interestingly the filter in the resovoir was now filled with the filtering particulate it did not come with.

I am surmising, that however great the engineering is on the Isomac, manufacturing leaves something to be desired. Do not let your warranty expire. Pay the shipping and fix your otherwise great machine.
