Sharp VL-Z7U cassette door will not shut - with or without tape.

Always use the camcorder with the battery and power button on.

Does the cassette compartment close without the tape ? If yes. then we have hope.

Now insert the tape and press to close the compartment as usual. Does it close or reject every time ?
If it rejects, then very slightly nudge the three tiny figures of the mechanism where the two wheels of the tape fit.
Now the tape will sit inside the compartment and lower itself.

If it still ejects, then very slightly press the base metal (where the tape rests once loaded but) without the tape. This is the largest metal piece visible closest to the hinge and door.

The tape will load properly now.

You could face error DEW or 007. Both are known errors.
DEW is really due to moisture in the air. Try on hot dry place.
for 007 error, you would need to carefully clear with one index figure the reading head. Remember all parts of the camcorder are delicate and need carefull handling.

Never use any tools, fluids, fabric or tissue.

Let me know if this solves.

I am looking for USB driver for Windows 7 and the method to extract from tape as I do not have Firewire (Ieee 1394) any more in my laptop and desktop.

How do I change the battery?

If you have the new battery you need to first disassemble the player (for warranty voiding reasons i will not direct you in this) but for that model it seems there is a single two pin connector that you must unplug then plug in anew. there is also some sort of double sided tape that you need to carefully remove.and replace

"unable to charge"

I had an old Motorola V3, which used to show me that error. It could result if the charger is not firmly connected to the phone. To diagnose this, try borrowing someone's moto charger. It's also possible that battery contacts could have dust. Try dusting them off so that they're nice and shinny as usual. Finally, try removing the battery for a few minutes, reinsert and charge, leave the phone off when you charge. The phone usually starts working after the regimen. If the problem persists, you'd know which method worked and what failed, so you can press for a warranty. Cheers

JVC GR-DVM55U Error E06

HI,

"E06" it is the carriage mechanism that has failed. and will not carry the tape to the heads and thus is not passing the sensor that tells you if the tape is in position and then telling the unit as it should there is fault.
take it to the nearest dealer and get it fixed.

Tape won't load

There are different designs on how this works. One design there is a small pin inside that detects if you have the right tape installed. It has a very small spring which allows it to move back and forth it may have broken with normal use. (it happens) With a small flashlight look very carefully inside. You may or may not be able to see it. It may be located under the alum carrier and hidden. Worth a look. If you find it try to reattach the spring if in fact you see it. But I doubt you can because you need to get goo access to it. In any case, you most likely will need to take it in for repair. The tape carriers for these cameras are fragile and easily damaged. Wish I could give you and easy fix.
