Hello,

If you have your pc connected directly to your broadband modem through the ETH/LAN port on your pc then disconnect it from that port on your PC.

Then connect the same cable to your Belkin Routers Internet/WAN port. Then take the extra cable that came with the Belkin router and connect it to 1 of the 4 lan ports on the Belkin router. Then connect the other end to your PC in the LAN port.

After that, restart your PC and everything should be fine.

Thanks

I have my router hooked to my cable modem. Its been working great. Then all of a sudden i have no wireless, then no cable modem. The router an orange or red color. When i unhook the router my cable modem...

Hi Jason

To get the connection back all you need to do is just connect the modem to the router to the yello port & computer to any gray port on the router.
& unplugg the power from the router first & then from the cable modem. Wait 30sec & plug the power to the cable modem first & then once the modem is on completly plug the power to the belkin router.
The light will turn green & start working.

This is an intermittent connection.
To avoid this happening over & over kindly update the firmware in the router.
you can login to the belkin.com/support web site to download & know the procedures to update the firmware in the router.

Thanks

Want to connect 2 routers to 1 modem

as far as I know it would not work due to auto configuration of DHCP settings in the router when using cable internet. You may have to manually configure this to get it to work. If you are using dsl, I dont think it will work at all.

If it was to work, this is how I would do it:

Using Cat 5 cabling
Modem -> N Router -> G Router

Be sure to plug modem into the uplink port on N router. Then go from port 1 on N router to uplink on G Router. Set both routers to DHCP setting and see if that works. Im going to try this when I get home. It actually sounds ideal, never thought of it myself.

Hope that works for you!

Hookup westell modem to belkin wireless router how to

Telephone cable from wall to modem..Cat 5 cable from modem to Router...You will have to also get another Cat 5 cable for initial set up an hook it from the router to your PC..That is so you can get into the Router software and set your settings, such as network name and encryption. Once the settings are completed then you will have Phone cable wall to modem, Cat 5 from modem to Router. You can unhook the cable you initially had from the router and your PC...if you have any questions just let me know..
Pls rate this solution.

Belkin G Wireless Router Connection problem

Sounds like a faulty router or issue with the firmware if it is unaccesible, your best solution is to factory reset the device and try again.

Can't get a wireless router to work with a speedstream 4200

This may actually be an issue with your ISP. There is a good possiblity that your ISP has bound your connection to the MAC address of the network card on your computer. This is a common occurance which is why router manufacturers give you the option of having your router clone your computer's MAC address. Go into your router's management an perform the clone, sorry I cannot give you more details but I don't know the specific model of your Belkin router.
