Plug the SD card in, right click My Computer and select Manage from the list, in the box that opens select Disk Management.
You will now see all the drives attached to your computer, if the card is functioning but but recognised it will show up as a drive but it will say something like RAW or DYNAMIC right click it and change it to LIVE.
If the card doesn't show up try it in another machine before vwriting it off.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

The memory card will not read

Hello,

You may need to reload the drivers for the card reader. You can find that on the support site of your pc maker or you can use the install disc that came with your pc.

I put my memory card into laptop, message says my card is full, and yet i delete my pics from camera., do i have to delete from memory card also, if so how do i do that.

Did you delete the pictures from the internal camera memory and not the SD card? An easy way to solve this problem would be to insert the card into your computer and open up "My Computer". In here you should see your memory card mounted as a usable drive. Open up the SD card, select everything in it by pressing "Control" + "A" and then hitting delete. This will clean everything off of the card. If you want to save the files from the card first, simply make a folder somewhere on your PC and drag all of the files from the SD card into that folder after pressing "Control" + "A". If you are still getting an error stating your card is full after removing them this way you may need to re-format the card or it may be malfunctioning.

Sd card format software

Start up a computer with Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. Insert the SD card into an external memory card reader or into the computer's built in card reader. If it the first time a SD card has been inserted into the computer, Windows will recognize the SD card and automatically install drivers to read the memory card.

Go to the computer view by clicking on the windows start menu icon in the bottom right corner of the computer. In Windows 7 and Vista click "Computer". In Windows XP click "My Computer"

Right click on the SD drive under the computer heading. A dialog box with different options for the drive will appear. Click on "Format" to bring up the formatting dialog box.

Select the type of formatting (also known as file system format). In Windows XP or Vista there are several choices including FAT, FAT 32, and NTFS. In Windows 7 there is an added choice called exFAT formatting. This is an improved FAT formatting type with improved meta data capabilities. Choose the formatting type, name if the drive if desired, check or uncheck the "quick format" option, and press the "Start" button. When the SD card format is complete Windows will provide a notification.

Does the SD card have pictures on it? What is the camera model used with this card? Have you tried connecting the camera itself to the PC in order to transfer the card's contents?

I have a hp photo smart 385 and I am trying to download my pictures from my cell phone. I have tried using a micro sd, samsung micro, and a sundisk adapter and all have come back with disk error. help

What type of phone is it? Some (most?) phones will not connect to PC etc. without special software. Did you format the SD card before trying to use it.? Using SD? - format SD first before inserting to phone for photo copying. If pic are stuck on SD card, there are SW which can do file recovery on it. Some free. Last thing to consider, what format are pics? Is format compatible w/ printer?

I have sd card which when I inserted in card reader it is telling it is not formated what to do

If there is data/photos on the card you need to save. Try downloading them with the card in the camera via the USB cable first. this will save your data. Then try formating the card either on the camera or your PC. Sometimes the cards get corupt and it is cheaper to replace them in the long term as this may happen again.

This could have happened by removing the card while the camera was on or by not using the card eject mode on your PC.

My pc is not recognising my connected sandisk cruzer control stick?

Solution for ALL PCs with USB 2.0 ports.

1. Move it to the PRIMARY USB port.
2. Check your BIOS configuration to make sure your USB ports are enabled
3. Assign an IRQ to the USB ports ( this is done by Y/N setting in the BIOS )
4. Download and install service pack 2 ( usb 2.0 is enabled by installing service pack 2 )

Photos from pc to sd

The easiest way to do this would be to buy a card reader for you PC. You can buy an external one that plugs into the USB port.

Another way is to used a computer with a SD reader and upload it into a flash drive. Once you have the flash drive, you can upload the pictures using your flash drive into the frame.
