Copier Jams Paper does not travel into the copying area from the tray - begins to enter copy area and jams.

Thanks - the feed mechanism has 2 sets of rollers - 1 at the lower level of the legal paper tray and another above that at the level of the standard paper tray, just before the paper makes its turn into the copy area. The lower set of rollers are easy to turn, but the upper set is very stiff. Is that a sign that the upper roller set should be replaced?

Sounds like feed tires are dirty or warn-out. if you can see the rubber piece that feeds the paper, Inspect if it looks dried-out or has imperfections try to clean with rubbing alcohol, use the most lint free cloth as possible. This can also happen when using office depot or staples or CHEAP PAPER These papers carry a lots of paper dust try switching paper. If none of this works the feed tires proberly will need to be replaced contact a local copier company: Chuck The Copier Guy

I have a Richo 2035 black and white copier. Recently the copier has begun to paper jam...and its done frequent every time i clear the jam..it runs for a while maybe 10 copies and jams again. What can i do?

Not surprising - it may need some service. It is 7-8 years old. There are a few areas that could be affecting output. Most likely you need to replace the rollers that pick the paper out of the tray (3/drawer) -especially if the problem occurs with 1 specific tray. Try using another tray to isolate the problem

When copier turn on and taking copies first 6 copies are printing with some scartches and it comes to paper jam in every. Please reply me with a best solution?

If the paper is not getting out of the tray, the rollers need cleaned.
The scratches. If the paper jams in the hot area. You will need a new hot roller.
Also the scratches may be coming from the drum. Sometimes it is hard to determine between the drum and fuser hot roll.

Copier jamming/copy printing sideways

If it jams every copy then it sounds like the paper tray size is not programmed properly. This is also why the print is the wrong direction on the page. So the copier thinks it has 8.5X11 loaded like this > -- and instead it is loaded like this > |
I hope that makes sense. So this not only causes the print to be the wrong direction but since the paper dimension are different that what the machine expects then it throws the sensor timing off and results in a paper jam. So just open your paper trays and check the paper size dials in the trays to make sure they match the paper size AND direction of the paper loaded into that tray.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Rec. Paper Jam slide platen left

There may still be a small sliver of paper somewhere along the paper path. It only takes one small piece to interfere with the mechanism that detects jams and causes the copier to stop working. Since the copier gives you an indication of where the jam is occurring, I would focus my attention in that area, removing trays, using a small flashlight to get a really good look inside.

Copier jams after making one copy

Is the jam Physical? (Damaged lead edge where it may have caught some thing)
Is the jam Timing (paper if perfect, it just stopped.)
If it is Physical then you need to look for the obstruction, paper clip, staple, or small piece of paper. Check very carefully, remove any foreign matter and retry.

If it is a timing jam, the start by removing the paper, check inside the the paper feed area for foreign material, fan the paper and carefully reinstall it, making sure it is the right size paper for the paper cassette. if it has movable guides in the tray, be sure they are firmly against the paper on all sides.

Close up the machine and try again.

Hope this helps.

Paper jam light flashes but no paper is jammed. I turned some gears and after a while it started to work. After one try, it did not copy and the light started flashing again.

There are four things I would check first. All depends on what was happening when the problem occurred. 1) If there was a paper jam to begin with, check to make sure all the paper came out and didn't tear. The two areas to check are in the transfer area below the cartridge and at the fuser area. 2) At these same two areas check the (usually black) plastic paw and make sure it isn't broken and functioning properly. 3)Paper/paper dust can accumulate around the photo interrupter and cause mis reads for paper jams. Again this is in the same area. 4) If the paper feeds out of the cassette about in inch and then jams for no apparent reason, it is usually caused from dirty/worn pick up tires. If this is a symptom I would clean the pick ups with alcohol. Hope this helps
